The Influence Our Thoughts & Feelings Have on Other People’s Experience
This post is a response to a question from a reader named Bari who wants to believe her better-feeling thoughts about her boyfriend will create better-feeling experiences of the two of them together, as taught by the spirit guides Abraham. But when her boyfriend repeats behaviors that contrast her better-feeling thoughts, Bari wonders how much of an impact her thoughts and feelings are really able to have on the experience of her boyfriend, or anyone else, and she asks The Council’s opinion on this.
This post is the third in a series based on comments from The Council during a single session on Sunday, April 15, 2012 to answer three thought-provoking questions from Bari and Rachael. Reincarnation and past lives were the subjects of the first post, and the second post, in this series.
Helping Others with Our Thoughts
Part way through reading Bari’s second question, The Council offered the following initial comments:
“In the non-physical it is sometimes planned: ‘At some point in my life I will meet you on Earth in the physical. And if I am going through something difficult and I can’t remember who I really am, will you remind me by your thoughts? By your thoughts I will feel that energetic change. I will feel the positive vibration that you are thinking.’ And then, of course, it is up to the [other] person to tune into it and expand with it.
“And so your thoughts go out, whether positive or negative. And the soul you are working with or you are in partnership with feels that vibration.
“And so if they are depressed or they are not accomplishing what they want to accomplish, your positive thought vibration is there and it sort of kick-starts them, but you can not control what they do.
“It’s [as if] you hold the light; you hold the remembrance of who they really are for them. And then, if they allow it, they will feel that and they will move forward.
“But when you have positive thoughts or negative [thoughts] about someone, in your experience that’s how you will experience them. Is that clear?”

What’s So Important About Multiple Realities?
This is our second post on the subject of multiple realities. Our last post, What About This Idea There’s More Than One Reality? was the first in what may become a series on this subject. In that post we wrote about a session with The Council almost three months ago that got us interested in this subject. Since then we’ve done two sessions with The Council focused on multiple realities and how an appreciation of this fascinating topic might help us and others improve the day-to-day quality of our lives. Here’s how the second session began (after the customary greetings):
Council: And so you have questions?
Bob: I’m under the impression that you would like us to concentrate on a post on multiple realities.
Council: Yes. We feel at this time it is good to get some of this information.
Bob: When you say ‘some,’ do you have any particular aspect of the information…
Council: The understanding that there are multiple realities that you experience.

What About This Idea There’s More Than One Reality?
This post is an introduction to the concepts of multiple realities and multiple dimensions — subjects that were briefly introduced to us a couple months ago in a session with The Council to answer a question from Diana about a relationship where two people seem to have opposing desires. Here are some of The Council’s comments that got us thinking quite a bit about multiple realities and dimensions, and their implications for improving the quality of our day-to-day experience.
“But if you go deeper into what many people are not understanding yet, in all of our realities that simultaneously exist, when you ask for this [experience] to be in your life and you line up with that vibration, it is experienced.”
–The Council“So you are always given what you ask for, but there are many dimensions. And not to make it too difficult, we try to get your focus to be on creating the feeling within you that you would have with this [experience] that you desire.”
–The Council“By making it as real as possible you will find the feeling within you. The joy [and] the happiness that you feel experiencing it as if it is already done – that feeling makes it real in another reality. It is happening. That happening in another reality brings it closer to coming into your existence.
“By just having the thoughts, it is created. But experiencing it as if it is already done makes it already done in a reality, in a dimension, that is closer to your human existence.
“And so each time this memory, this desire is experienced, the vibration of those thoughts and feelings gives the universe, so to speak, the power of creating this in your reality – to bring it in.”

Is There a Difference Between Our Spirit and Our Soul?
This post is inspired by a question from Oksana, who observes that in our sessions with The Council there are many references to spirit, but not many references to soul. Oksana asks if The Council can provide information specific to the soul. She’s particularly interested in The Council’s point of view on whether it’s possible to do things that can be detrimental to our soul.
Our Soul is an Aspect or Part of Our Spirit
“The spirit, who we truly are, is the larger part of us. The soul – which some people understand is interchangeable with the word spirit – the soul is the smaller part [of spirit] that chooses to experience this life, and it is what we would consider your personality in each different life. It has the knowledge of what you are looking to experience. And so the soul is part of the spirit and part of the human. Is that understood?”
–The Council
Before Oksana asked her question, Cynthia and I were among those who thought the words ‘soul’ and ‘spirit’ were more or less interchangeable. Prior to our session on this question, Cynthia was already getting information from The Council on this subject that started us thinking there might be more of a difference than we suspected. Their opening statement above makes it pretty clear they perceive the soul as a distinct aspect of spirit, not the same as spirit, but some of the other things they mentioned weren’t as obvious.
