Believing the Earth is Flat, and Connection With Spirit

This post is inspired by questions from a reader named Audrey, who appears to have some difficulty accepting The Council’s idea that what we believe creates the reality we experience. Audrey uses the example of the Earth being round instead of flat, which she appears to believe is an incontrovertible scientific fact. But interestingly The Council seems to suggest that when people believed the Earth was flat, their belief created a reality where the Earth was flat.

The Council says the Earth is made up of energy that is able to shift shapes with the thoughts we think about it. And they add that many people aren’t at the point where they believe this is possible. The Council says at one time the Earth was flat, but along came others who began to believe the Earth was round. And because of the strength of this belief they found a way to create proof of the Earth’s roundness.

At the time people thought the Earth was flat they also didn’t think the Earth revolved around the Sun, and The Council says these thoughts created that reality and the Earth didn’t rotate around the Sun at that time. As we grow and want to make life more interesting and challenging, our thoughts change, we reach for more, and we create more. The Council adds that how we perceive our universe will change again in the future.

The Council says science and facts depend on the beliefs of people. Once you accept a thought and it becomes part of your belief system, and more and more people accept that thought, your reality will change to create that thought and you will have that experience.

Audrey asks The Council how she can stop being so left-brained. And The Council recommends looking into topics that she doesn’t currently believe and ask herself if she’d like to experience this, and she will begin to create what she focuses on and desires.

Audrey says she wants to connect with spirit. And The Council reminds her she already is connected to spirit and she is spirit. She has only to ask her higher self for signs of who she truly is and how she can create. Let her higher self give her a sign that she’s the creator and she’s not just here mumbling through this life. And be open to how it comes. Her higher self will bring her what she asks for.

Audrey says she does many things like meditation and yoga, but she doesn’t seem to connect with spirit. The Council says these things are helpful, but the feeling of connection will come from within her. They recommend she picture within her heart a small flame, which is a small part of her as spirit. Watch this flame grow daily as she meditates on this. As the flame grows Audrey will become more aware of who she really is and she will feel more connected to the spirit she is.

The ideas in this post may be challenging at first, but listen to our entire 11-minute session with The Council (below) to receive all their guidance for Audrey and the rest of us. And let us know what you think.

  1. I’m fascinated to hear what The Council might say on this! My guess would be that no one fell off the Flat Earth because it was too difficult to get to the edge. There must have been some physical property that kept everything in its place so to speak.

  2. Hi, EG. We’ll ask The Council your question about people falling off the edge of the world and post their response when it’s ready. Love, Bob & Cynthia

  4. I wonder if when there was a flat Earth and people believed they could fall off the edge, if anyone actually did fall off the edge.

  6. I guess my main question is… Is the fourth dimension spatial?

  9. […]  Because that’s the way they saw it, so that’s the way they created it. (See this amazing post from Ask the Council to understand where I got that one […]

  11. Its all very much like “Alice In Wonderland” isn’t it? Maybe Lewis Carroll got it right. I wonder what Lewis Carroll is up to since he passed away- which I believe was 1898. Was that a long time ago? Maybe only in my reality. I wonder if he has reincarnated into this reality? I’m just baffled by everything.

  12. Hello Bob Cynthia and The Council,

I love how much you make my brain hurt! So I was reading a book on theoretical physics which explained that perhaps the fourth dimension is not “time” as many people believe. Instead, the fourth dimension is spatial, however; as three-dimensional beings, we are not able to perceive the fourth dimension.

The writer used and analogy of a koi pond. He explained that if you took the koi out of the pond, they would not be able to perceive what was going on because, outside of the koi pond, never existed for the koi in their reality. So, I’m wondering… Is the fourth dimension spatial?

Are their beings in the fourth dimension? Is their some way we, in the third dimension, can perceive them? Are they capable of perceiving those of us in the three-dimensional world? Are there beings who only exist as two-dimensional beings…like cartoon characters?

Is “time” the fifth dimension or a different dimension? I also read that there are 28 dimensions. Are there more than that? Or…is it that I ask about all this stuff, and it only exists if I believe it exists that way? Also, if I’m asking about all this stuff, does it mean I have too much free time on my hands? Really, I wish I could perceive something beyond the nose on my face.

Love and peace to you all.

  13. It’s one of those things that hits you really differently when you’ve been able to experience it, to recognize it.

  16. I absolutely LOVE this. At this point in my experience, because of healing so very many beliefs, my reality is shifting and changing. And lately it shifted significantly. I have been taught that how I perceive my shared reality with other people is based on an agreement between us all. And I believe it.

When I had a psychic reading recently, information she gave me about my son absolutely did not resonate with me at all. It seemed like she was seeing a different reality from what I was seeing. Once I realized that her perceptions were based on her consciousness, and that we are at very different levels of consciousness, I was able to understand why she saw what she saw. She couldn’t see what I see because she is living a slightly different reality from mine. I describe it as living in a different dimension. Thank you so much for this post- I find it most synchronous.
