Will an Old Boyfriend Come Back into My Life?
This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Ashley, who’s been plagued with nostalgic feelings for a man she hasn’t communicated with in 7 years. It all started with him coming to me in a dream and since then I’ve often had dreams about him. I feel like he visits me, but is this just wishful thinking because he’s moved on with his life?
The Council says this soul visits you in your dreams because you’ve had other lifetimes together and because you’ve had times that were special in this lifetime, but you didn’t have the intension of staying in each other’s lives. The spirit of this man can feel your longing and sadness and comes to visit you in your dreams because there’s great love there. But now it’s time for you to move on with your life and learn the other lessons you’ve planned.
Ashley says, to his knowledge I’ve moved on and he’s unaware of these feelings I still hold for him. The Council says in human form he’s not aware of these feelings, but his higher self knows.
Ashley says she wants to let go of these feelings and I’m in a relationship now, but things have become clear to me during the last year how much I’ve held on to this man. The Council says the spirit of this man also feels this holding on and he’s come to try and remind you to move on and experience the other things you’ve planned.
Ashley says she was with this man the night his sister died 10 years ago. We were neighbors and best friends growing up. Our mothers were close to each other. I miss this man so much, but I also told him my feelings after we finally had a fling and he shut down the relationship. I realized how much of an influence he had on my life and how much he continues to influence it because he’s not in it. The Council asks if you’re able to wish this man love and happiness. That’s what’s needed for both of you.
Ashley says this man broke my heart and I still haven’t healed 10 years later. We don’t speak. What should I do? The Council reminds Ashley they do speak, but on a spiritual level rather than a human one. When you have these dream visitations, be aware of what’s being said and the feelings you have. When you’re awake, think of this man and be grateful for these visitations, be grateful for the experiences you had together, and be happy knowing in future lives you can be together again if you desire. Have your experiences in your current life and this man will have his experiences. When you return to spirit you can share what you’ve accomplished and when you’re ready, you’ll move on to new experiences that you both want together.
Ashley says part of me feels we had a spiritual contract and have some unfinished business. I feel like I’m not in a position to reconnect with him because it would hurt too much to be turned down. I’m terrified of how he thinks of me, but I wish I knew. The Council says the contract Ashley’s talking about has been fulfilled. You experienced what you had together and now it’s time to move on. This was something you both agreed on in spirit.
Ashley closes by asking if this man will come back into her life? The Council says right now they don’t see this happening, but with your meditations, visualizations, and feelings, if it’s something you want, you can create this.

Since the blog is currently a project we do in our spare time it can take a while for us to do a session with The Council on a question and then publish a post on the session. Depending on the question and the session it can sometimes take weeks after a question is asked to publish a post with The Council’s answer. Please be patient.
The Council
Cynthia is able to communicate with a group of five non-physical spirit guides in a manner similar to the way Esther Hicks communicates with and speaks for the spirit guides, Abraham, and Jane Roberts communicated and spoke for the spirit guide, Seth. I (Bob) basically interview The Council as they speak through Cynthia during what we refer to as a session. Sessions generally last 5-15 minutes and are usually audio recorded. During the session Cynthia is aware of what The Council is saying and she also receives visual impressions and other types of telepathic communication from them.
The Council’s Basic Guidance
Since we began these sessions with The Council around 2009 they consistently emphasize a few basic ideas that we attempt to summarize here:
1) You are an eternal spiritual being in a physical body.
You are the energy and vibration of continuously expanding love, intelligence, and joy.
Your physical experience in your physical body and your psychological experience of your personality is a small part of the totality of who you truly are.
Let yourself imagine from time to time what it might feel like to experience more of the wondrous totality of who you really are, and don’t be surprised if you are able to experience this more often.
2) You are the creator of all that you experience.
As you open to the possibility your true nature is greater than you ordinarily perceive, it becomes easier to consider the possibility that this expanded you is truly the creator of everything that you experience.
If you’re used to thinking of yourself in a more limited sense, the idea that you are the creator of your experience may be difficult to understand. Our post, What About This Idea That We Create Whatever We Desire, offers insights into this idea.
3) You are here to expand the love you are into physical reality.
You chose, as a spiritual being, to come into this physical reality to experience the joy of expanding the love you are as a spiritual being, into this physical reality. This is your purpose for being here.
Finding Your Way Around the Blog
Home Page
The left-hand column on the Home page contain a long chronological series of posts with the most recent on top. Each post begins with a title. Clicking on a post title will take you to a blog page dedicated to that particular post. Following each post is a Like button where you can indicate to us and other readers if you like the post.
The footer section of each post identifies the date the post was published, the Categories the post has been assigned to, the keyword/keyphrase Tags assigned to the post, and a Comment link. I would like to know about my own origin and purpose, and wonder if I am working with these beings. I feel disconnected from the clarity and awareness that I hope to develop. What can I do to understand myself and connect with my awakening and awareness more?

I’m enjoying this blog quite a bit. I recently read Michael Newton’s book Journey of the Soul, which taught me many new things in addition to confirming thoughts about the spiritual world that I’ve held for a long time. I’m glad that I found your blog. I’ll be following it.
I asked to see/touch someone who I don’t believe I’ve met in my current lifetime, but someone who visited me in a dream many months ago. Within a few days I dreamt that I was with this person (talking/touching) him in a different time. Do you think it is possible to dream flashbacks of events from previous lives?

Hello Cynthia and Bob,
When you have time I’d love to ask the council why I feel so connected to my ex-boyfriend who broke up with me because he became depressed and said he had nothing to offer me. We felt a strong spiritual connection and I’m guessing this is why I can’t seem to move on from him or the heavy heart that still sits with me after 8 months (despite focusing on myself and throwing myself into meditation and all things I love.)
It was the most in sync relationship I’ve ever had and I miss him dearly. My friends tell me to totally disconnect from him so that I can move on (we communicate every couple of weeks) but the thought of doing that doesn’t sit well with me.
I still have hope for us reuniting in the future but is that foolish? If we won’t be together again will I ever find a love that touches my heart and spirit as much as his did?

Hello. I would like to thank you for your services to us all. It really is beautiful what you’re doing and I’ve never seen anything like it on a personal level like this. It reminds me a lot of Dolores Cannon’s work and The Law of One (the latter being very new to me). I have struggled with depression a lot in my life. I am 22 years old and have always felt out of place since I was very young. I feel homesick often even when I was a child growing up with my family. The emotions are so strong sometimes that I just want to explode in sadness and frustration. I would just like to hear what I need to hear from the council pertaining to myself on a personal level. I’ve always felt the need to progress spiritually and I feel very alone right now. Thank you and much love.

I hope you are doing well. I would like to ask the council about my mother, from whom I was separated as a baby. She had abandoned me years ago but now she wants to connect with me again. I don’t know how to react because I barely have any loving feelings for her since I never really knew her and she left me. I am not trying to meet her and neither can I due to certain situations. Do you feel that I will be seeing her in the near future and if so about how long will it be before we reconnect?

Hello Bob and Cynthia. I came across someone that was teaching a technique called “Memory Flipping” to change your memories to something that feels good to help you live a better life and achieve success, and a life you want. He talked about where he went through “The Secret and using the Law of Attraction” and that it didnt really work for him. A lot of people I have seen have said “The Secret and the Law of Attraction” never worked for them. But doing “Memory Flipping” and that has helped him change his life around. Basically in a nut shell he is saying if someone has a bad or traumatic experience it could cause a limiting belief or no belief and you could take weeks of subliminal messages or visualization or apply “The Law of Attraction” you would not be able to get it. Because of that experience.
My questions for The Council are, what do they think of “Memory Flipping?” If we “Flip Memories” does that take away from the lessons we wanted to learn? And since the Law of Attraction is always at work, why have so many people “claim” it not to work. Be that through thoughts, speech, vision boards, etc. What do we need to change to bring about our desires using The Law of Attraction? Is it because of traumatic experiences or “bad” experiences and it causing or us letting it cause a limiting belief or total lack of belief that The Law of Attraction will not bring our desires? So would Memory Flipping be a catapult to changing that belief by changing the memory of a traumatic or “bad” experience. What about life plans, if we planned in spirit to experience a traumatic or “bad” experience how does that all play into this.

Hello to Bob, Cynthia, and The Council! My wife has been following you for quite some time and sharing with me your many blessings and answers. I am interested in all things spiritual, metaphysical and unexplained and I believe that there are many worlds and dimensions where all possibilities (and impossibilities) are explored and manifested.
One day my wife and I were out for a drive and had an odd and eerie feeling we were traveling along a road that wasn’t how it should have been on the map, and after several minutes of curious and anxious travel, we arrived at a house she had seen in a recent dream. At that point we finally felt like we were “back” from our “detour”.
Subsequent visits to the area seem to indicate we moved back and forth between points on the road that are several miles apart, and out of sequence with a normal drive. During the ride we were both conscious, but it seemed eerie enough that later we thought we may have been influenced by aliens or otherworldly forces. I am curious to hear what you could tell me about that.
