Can a New Soul Come into a Body After a Failed Suicide Attempt?
This post answers a question for The Council from a reader named, Ashtin, who wants to know if someone tried to commit suicide and lived, and doctors admitted it was a miracle, but the person doesn’t act the way they used to, does this mean a new soul has come in as a host for that body?
The Council says sometimes when a spirit tries to create their suicide they create a physical condition where there’s no memory of things from the past even though the same soul is still inhabiting the body.
Sometimes someone will try to commit suicide, or dies momentarily from a heart attack or a stroke, and is then brought back to life and is totally different, and no one understands why. This happens because another spirit has come into this body to take over and finish the lessons the original soul had planned.
The Council says this happens quite a bit and some people call this new spirit a walk-in. The lessons that needed to be learned by the family and friends and relationships around this spirit that decided continuing life is just too much are so important that another soul will jump in and take that soul’s place. This way all the souls associated with this person can continue their lessons.
So while they act very differently, and there’s no memory, and sometimes there’s a loss of emotion, or a very sad and depressed person can suddenly become filled with joy and be outgoing, it’s because there are the lessons of all the people concerned that must be finished.
The Council says in Ashtin’s example another soul did come in to replace the original soul, but what’s going on here is the original soul in that body is helping the walk-in. The essence of the original soul is still guiding the new soul in whatever is supposed to be happening. The original soul that left the body didn’t leave completely. In this case the new soul is helping the old soul. It’s still part of this reality in order to help itself learn things in a less dramatic way where it needs to feel the emotion and go through things. This is one soul helping another soul.
The second soul wouldn’t have any memory of things that happened to the original soul until the two souls agreed that some memory should come into play according to what lesson is to be learned. Sometimes the new soul can just take over and finish out the life the way it chooses and the first soul would learn from that experience. It’s what these two souls have agreed upon.
This is an example of how we support one another from the spirit world, helping the spirits that are still in their human bodies, and we all grow together.
Listen to the entire 6-minute session audio recording of our session with The Council (below) to hear all their guidance for Ashtin and the rest of us and let us know what you feel about it, or ask The Council your own question.
In the recording we refer to Ashtin as a male, but since we recorded this session we’ve learned Ashtin can be a man’s or woman’s name. Our apologies to Ashtin if we got this wrong.

Hi, SillyGoose. We’ll be happy to ask The Council your questions about your sister-in-law when we have time and we’ll post an audio recording of their response as soon as it’s ready. Thanks for your questions. Love and light, Bob & Cynthia

HI Bob and Cynthia,
I Hope you are doing well.
I Want to ask a question about my relationship with my sister in law ( my husband’s brother’s wife.) I feel like I have a strong connection with her from the past and her husband. She sometimes can be very kind and sometimes she becomes very rude at the same time. I want to stay away from her but then she somehow manages to pull me back in her life again. I am confused if she really does care for me or is she just pretending to? Did I know her in the past? Am I supposed to stay connected to her or is it better to stay away from her, what lessons do I have to learn from her? Thankyou. Love and light.
