Ask The Council

What will you ask Spirit?

Who or What is the Holy Spirit?

This post answers a question from a reader named, Keith, who wants to know who or what is the Holy Spirit? Keith says when I was born again 20 years ago I experienced miracles every day for about two weeks and felt a buzz that my new Christian friends said this meant I was filled with the Holy Spirit. Lately I’ve gotten away from religion and I’m on a more direct spiritual path. Even though God and Christ come up in my readings and discussions, I’ve yet to find mention of the Holy Spirit.

The Council says what we’ve created in our reality is: God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, are all one. Some people will feel the Holy Spirit as energy, almost like a typhoon going through your system. Some people will hear a buzz. Imagine living the rest of your life hearing this buzz every day. This wouldn’t be beneficial. What is beneficial is that you’ve experienced the Holy Spirit and it hasn’t left you. Your physical body has learned how to accept it and use it. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a religious path or a spiritual path. It’s all one.

Being born again and experiencing this buzz is a wonderful thing for you. Some people experience the acceptance of Jesus as part of this trio and they don’t experience it with a buzz, but with a great feeling of love and happiness.

Many people experience God, the father, as a state of euphoria, seeing bright lights all the time. It’s how you’ve chosen to experience this in this particular lifetime. The Council says they want to assure Keith that this energy is still within you.

Think about if this Holy Spirit is within me, how do I use it? What does it mean to me? How can I spread this feeling, maybe without talking about the religious part, the Holy Spirit and God part, but how do I spread this wonderful feeling that is within me? The way you spread it is the reason we’ve all come into this reality: to show love. To bring love from the spirit world into your reality. Meditate on this. How would you use this Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost as some call it)  to bring happiness and love into this world?

Did I Share a Past Life with a Man I was with 10 Years Ago?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Evelyn, who wants to know if she shared a previous lifetime with a violinist she was with 10 years ago. Evelyn also asks if she’ll be able to maintain contact with a different man who The Council told her in a different post (A Past Life Son Comes Back as a Current Life Lover) that she had a mother-son relationship with this man in another life. She says she’s grateful for both these people being in her life because they’ve changed her a lot for the better. She also wants to keep people in her life that were important to her. She’s particularly concerned about the second man because they’ve been out of touch for a long time.

The Council sees Evelyn sharing several past lives with the man she calls the violinist. In one of those lives they were both studying for the Catholic priesthood under very strict conditions. You formed a bond in that life that you brought into your current life so you could meet each other and have an exchange of ideas, speak about spirituality, speak about different religions, and help each other on a learning path.

To see if you’ve fulfilled what you planned in spirit, look at how this relationship developed. What have you learned? What have you taught each other? And then use this to bring you closer to the spiritual part of you. That was the purpose of this relationship. There wasn’t any permanent relationship with this man planned in spirit. There was just a memory of how nicely you two got along in that other life, how you learned together, and how you followed rules together. You thought in your current life the two of you would be able to learn again and help each other on your paths.

The second relationship you ask about had some qualities about it from the past life where you were this man’s mother. You planned for this relationship so you could fulfill your desire to take care of this man. And like your relationship with the man who played the violin, you didn’t plan to stay together.

Most of what you planned for your current life was to meet people in order to learn. You wanted to jump ahead in your spiritual growth in your current life and have a certain understanding of everything you gathered from these other people. When these relationships come to an end, this is what you wanted in spirit so you could move on to the next person you wanted to learn from.

Is Sensitivity to Showing My Skin Related to a Past Life?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Eden, who says she’s quite self-conscious about showing her skin in public even though there’s nothing wrong with her skin. She asks if this is issue connected to a past life, and what she can do to work through it and heal it?

The Council says they see two past lives related to Eden’s difficulty exposing her skin. One life wasn’t too long ago where she was Amish and had to cover her skin. Eden never liked this and wanted a life where she was free from these restrictions and could dress differently.

There was also a life in the 1500s where you were part of a very large family with a mother and father who thought they were very religious and had many rules. In this lifetime one of the rules was that you couldn’t show your skin. These people believed the body was shameful and had to be covered.

The cell memories of these two past lives bring the fear you need to be covered up and the fear you can’t change your life, but these past lives are why you’ve come into your current lifetime. You can very slowly change this pattern. You have the freedom to wear shorter skirts and shirts with short sleeves.

One day you can go out without socks on. Go out with something where you can roll up your sleeves. It may be nerve-racking at first. You may not understand your fears and you may not think these things are helping, but you wanted the freedom to experience this fear again in your current lifetime and realize you have choices and you can change this pattern. Maybe start by just walking around your house or apartment with clothes that give more exposure to your skin and see how that feels. Then gradually you can work you way up to going outside and see how that feels.

As you get over the fear of exposing your skin you’ll have the freedom to enjoy the heat because you can dress the way you want.

Why Do People Think Astrology and Tarot are Demonic?

This post answers a question for The Council from a reader named, Miyagi, who’s into Astrology and reading Tarot cards, but some of her family think it’s witchcraft and this scares her. A friend told her it’s demonic. Why do people have a difficult time believing in Astrology and the Tarot for guidance?

The Council says many people who don’t understand getting guidance from Astrology and Tarot are afraid of it and think it’s demonic. Most people who are afraid of Astrology and Tarot have experienced lifetimes where they misused it and so coming back in this lifetime they’re afraid of it.

Astrology and Tarot go very far back in time. The pagan religions, which are also thought to be demonic, were people who worshipped the stars, the moon, the Earth, animals, and everything that had life. In ancient times people worshipped many different gods. When Christianity came along this unfortunately changed things. They believed in Christ and if you didn’t believe their way they’d destroy your temples and punish you. There were Popes who changed the laws of Christianity to make all other religions evil.

Because Miyagi has the power to read cards and stars, the more she studies this the easier it will come to her because she’s done this in other lifetimes, and did it in a way that was good for people. Miyagi says she looks at everything as created from the divine source, but she’s confused about all this and wants The Council’s opinion. The Council says when you can see things through the eyes of creation, you’re on the right track because you’re looking at these things with love. We advise you to stay on this path.

A Jealous Partner or Travel?

This post is inspired by a reader named Kelly who has several questions for The Council. First she asks about her 7-year old boy who has a physical tick disorder because Kelly and her son’s father (who she’s apparently separated from) have extremely different religious views – he’s a Jehovah’s Witness and she believes in magic.

The Council suggests keeping calmness around her son at this time and giving him more attention. He needs stability that he’s not feeling right now. Give him a peaceful environment and show him love. And it is very important to teach him about the many different religions in this world and experience their different beliefs. This is something he’ll use later in life.

Kelly had a miscarriage recently and she asks why, and if she’ll have another child. The Council says it was agreed upon in spirit if she, her partner, or her child had a change of heart about this pregnancy it would be acceptable to end it. In this case the soul of the child decided it wasn’t able to learn what it needed to learn by coming into Kelly’s life and decided to miscarry. And The Council says they do see another child is possible.

Kelly has had dreams about having a child and she asks how important they are. The Council says sometimes a dream has pieces of information about problems during your day. And sometimes when you have a dream you cannot forget and is crystal clear to you day after day as if you’re currently experiencing it, there is a very important message in that dream, and as you give this dream more attention you will learn what it’s trying to show you.

And Kelly asks about the man she’s currently involved with and whether she should give up her professional plans for travel because of her partner’s jealously. The Council suggests reviewing this relationship and deciding whether Kelly is truly happy in it or not. If she thinks they have the patience for each other, keep focusing on the happiness they can experience. And when the doubt comes, acknowledge it and refocus on how you’d like your life to be. Or does she prefer the freedom of traveling, learning, and perhaps bringing someone else into her life. Only she can make this decision.

Listen to our entire 14-minute session with The Council on Kelly’s questions to receive all their guidance, and let us know what you think.

Future Lives, Connecting with Famous ‘Dead’ People, & the Importance of the Present

This post describes part of a session with The Council inspired by a question from Jose about how the past, present, and future all happen at the same time. Topics addressed include:

  1. Jose’s question: Why does The Council sometimes refer to ‘past’ lives when they say at other times the past, the present, and the future are all happening at the same time?
  2. Future lives
  3. The connection all human beings have to the creative genius of any human being who has ever lived, and your ability to access this creativity.
  4. The importance of your ability to choose
  5. The importance of the present moment
  6. Karma

What is the Meaning of Religion?

This post is a response to Oxana’s questions about:

  • The meaning of religion
  • —Why she has never been able to embrace religion, particularly Christianity, which she considers her religion
  • —Feeling like an outsider because of difficulties becoming part of a group

The Council’s Perspective on Religion

During our session on Oxana’s questions and comments, The Council made several points about religion, including these:

  • Religion is about people’s desire to: experience God, experience a connection with God, experience a connection with the source of all that is.
  • —The desire for a religious experience of unity and oneness with God is a powerful attractive force that draws people of similar religious beliefs together into communities of worship and faith.
