What’s My Life Purpose, And How Can I Create A Life of Freedom?
This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, LDavis1978.
LDavis: What is my purpose in life, and how can I create a life of freedom?
Council: Everyone always wants to know their purpose in life, forgetting that many times in spirit before coming into your reality there is no purpose. You just come in for fun. You just come in to see who you’ll meet, what you’re all experiencing, how you’ll help one another, and just find yourself along the way. You’re not always coming in with a set destination saying, “I must accomplish this and I must accomplish that.” It’s so much easier to come in and say, “Let’s see what I create in that personality, and then let’s see in that personality how I handle it.
LDavis: I live for my family, but feel constrained by corporate life and the nine-to-five grind.
Council: So right there we say what does that tell you? You are feeling constrained by this. And so if it’s not helping you move forward, helping you feel good and find a purpose, then begin to think in your mind what else can I do? “Let me experience something brand new that will make me feel happy, that will make me feel free, and that I will appreciate.” And you send that message out to your higher self and your higher self will direct you.
LDavis: I’d love to have the time and freedom to live my life as I please, yet I also need security and the stability of money to provide a roof and food for my family.
Council: Many people desire a house and a life that’s exactly what they want, and yet subconsciously they believe this isn’t possible. They believe they’re stuck in this kind of job or that kind of job. But for you what would work right now would be to go into a state of appreciation for the job you already have. Appreciate that it allows you to do things for yourself and your family. It’s there giving you financial stability at this time.
But as you appreciate your job and think about how it allows you to do so many different things, also add: “But I’m ready for a change. I’d like more freedom. I’d like more happiness in the job that I’m in so many hours during the week.”
So we’d suggest you start with appreciation that you have this job, that this job makes it possible for you to have a roof over your head, to have food, to do things for your family, and appreciate it and thank it. And now say, “I’d like more. I’d like to change it.”
And as you think those thoughts, the universe will answer that. It will bring you things. And you could have several opportunities come to you, and if it’s not what you like, you can put it out there and not take that job and ask for something else. And the universe will continue to bring you things because you appreciate what you already have.
Appreciate, appreciate, appreciate. Start there and then use your imagination. You can imagine any sort of job you want. Even if you think you’re not capable of getting that job, that you’re not capable of doing it, just play in your mind, what sounds good, what sounds fun? Play like a child would play in their imagination.
