Do I Have A Past Life Connection With A Man I Briefly Met?
This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named Adelaide.
Adelaide: Dear Bob, Cynthia, and The Council. Love you guys. I have a question about limerence (defined by Wikipedia as an involuntary state of intense, obsessive infatuation with another person), which I have recently experienced, although this is not the first time.
Council: (Laughing) What a life you have chosen. This limerence… You wanted to have fun this lifetime. You wanted to have new experiences of love, and caring, and imagination. And so you have picked this. And what it is, is every now and then you will find yourself attracted to someone, and you can’t stop thinking of them, and it feels like love, and you want to know if you’ve known them before (in other lives).
So there are some people who will drop into your life that you have known before, but only for a minute to give you that experience of, “Ahh, a new attraction, a new love,” and get that exciting, fun feeling. So that’s what you wanted in this lifetime, to have it over and over, and to have the fun of the newness, of the fun, and love, and strong feelings about it.
Adelaide: Most recently, I was at an amusement park with my family when a ride broke down. The maintenance crew came to fix it, and I was instantly drawn to one of these men. I asked him a few questions about his job. Now I fantasize about him.
Council: And there you go. (Laughs)
Adelaide: I’ll never see him again in this reality which I’m on. I felt much joy upon meeting him. I’m just wondering if people who experience limerence have a past-life connection to the person they desire after knowing them for only a few minutes?
Council: Sometimes there is a connection. Sometimes it is just spirits that say, “Yes, I’ll jump in. I’ll do that.” And they get fun out of playing that part too.
Adelaide: Thank you so much, Adelaide.
Council: Have fun with your limerence. Have fun. Enjoy it.
And so we send you love. We send everyone happiness, and hope, and the ability to change your lives and know that you can, and make it exactly the way you want it. And that is why we’re all here right now. Love to you all.
