Questions About Abortion
This post is inspired by comments and questions from a reader named Isobel who begins by thanking The Council for their post on Beth’s Story: A Spiritual Perspective and how she doesn’t believe the articles she’s read about women who abort a child and pay for this lifetime after lifetime.
The Council says in spirit, when there are lessons we wish to learn before we come into a particular lifetime, and we don’t quite learn these lessons in that lifetime, we can choose to repeat these lessons in additional lifetimes until we’re sure of the love that exists between all of the parties involved. There is no payment or karma involved that a woman must repeat her abortion lifetime after lifetime. If an abortion is experienced, it is by the loving choice of the spirit to see the experience differently until there is complete love and understanding of that process as a human being.
Isobel recently terminated a pregnancy and wants to know if it was the spirit of a girl she miscarried when she was much younger. The Council says the spirit of this child was known from other lifetimes, but it wasn’t the soul of the child she miscarried.
The Council says this abortion was planned in spirit to learn more about abortion and the process of agreement between the child, the father, herself, and anyone else involved, and then to quickly let go of these feelings and move forward. The Council asks Isobel to meditate on her desire in spirit to move forward and not linger any longer than necessary on the abortion.
Isobel asks if the spirit of the aborted child is likely to return to her in a future pregnancy. And The Council says there’s a possibility she’ll get pregnant again with this partner, but the soul will be a different soul that she knows from another lifetime; not the soul she aborted in this lifetime.

Since the blog is currently a project we do in our spare time it can take a while for us to do a session with The Council on a question and then publish a post on the session. The Council
Cynthia is able to communicate with a group of five non-physical spirit guides in a manner similar to the way Esther Hicks communicates with and speaks for the spirit guides, Abraham, and Jane Roberts communicated and spoke for the spirit guide, Seth. I (Bob) basically interview The Council as they speak through Cynthia during what we refer to as a session. Sessions generally last 5-15 minutes and are usually audio recorded. During the session Cynthia is aware of what The Council is saying and she also receives visual impressions and other types of telepathic communication from them.
The Council’s Basic Guidance
Since we began these sessions with The Council around 2009 they consistently emphasize a few basic ideas that we attempt to summarize here:
1) You are an eternal spiritual being in a physical body.
You are the energy and vibration of continuously expanding love, intelligence, and joy.
Your physical experience in your physical body and your psychological experience of your personality is a small part of the totality of who you truly are.
Let yourself imagine from time to time what it might feel like to experience more of the wondrous totality of who you really are, and don’t be surprised if you are able to experience this more often.
2) You are the creator of all that you experience.
As you open to the possibility your true nature is greater than you ordinarily perceive, it becomes easier to consider the possibility that this expanded you is truly the creator of everything that you experience.
If you’re used to thinking of yourself in a more limited sense, the idea that you are the creator of your experience may be difficult to understand. Our post, What About This Idea That We Create Whatever We Desire, offers insights into this idea.
3) You are here to expand the love you are into physical reality.
You chose, as a spiritual being, to come into this physical reality to experience the joy of expanding the love you are as a spiritual being, into this physical reality. This is your purpose for being here.
Finding Your Way Around the Blog
Home Page
The left-hand column on the Home page contain a long chronological series of posts with the most recent on top. Each post begins with a title. Clicking on a post title will take you to a blog page dedicated to that particular post. Following each post is a Like button where you can indicate to us and other readers if you like the post.
The footer section of each post identifies the date the post was published, the Categories the post has been assigned to, the keyword/keyphrase Tags assigned to the post, and a Comment link. Does the fetus feel physical pain during and abortion?

Hello, I am in a situation where I’m past the first trimester of pregnancy and have tried the herbal way for an abortion because I couldn’t afford the medical one, plus I didn’t have health insurance for birth control. I was very cautious with my time period of ovulation and used condoms, but still this unexpectedly happened after an intoxicated night. The babyfather doesn’t have income or any sense of raising a child. He has children already that he doesn’t care for.
I have tried speaking with the soul of the baby to negotiate with it to understand the seriousness of this situation, plus my living conditions aren’t fit for a baby. How could I speak it into existence or make the negotiation heard by the soul or spirit of the unborn? This situation to me has me thinking about life or death because I’ve already been through this and I have already chosen not to be a mother before, and don’t plan on doing it any time soon.
I had moved in with my ex due to foreclosure. We began trying out a relationship, but he still has his mental disorder breaks and outburst, which is very unattractive. I would never marry him or want any children by him, so that’s why I’m embarrassed and disappointed in myself for allowing this to happen.
I need some advice on how to speak to the unborn. What will make him or her leave and understand how serious it is? I don’t want to go through the adoption process. I just want it to leave so I can raise enough money to move out and continue my young life without a man.
I’m finishing college and only focusing on my furthering my career and don’t plan to be this poor excuse man’s baby-mother. I already know it will be stressful because he is older than me and if he had taken the initiative to step up as a father for his other children, why would he do that for mine. He cant even provide for me while I’m pregnant. He survives of disability checks, never worked a day in his life, so that’s where the fear comes from.
I’m ashamed and wish I could protect myself from mistakes like this. I probably could if I had a second chance and that is all I’ve been asking the baby to understand. This is all I think about. It’s on my mind all the time. I try to stay positive, but the hormones and living with a sorry excuse of a man makes it difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve giving him many times to change his ways, but his self awareness is so low. I’m ready to be free and live life the way I deserve. I plan to be married, then have children by a man that I truly adore and know that he deserves my love to bear a child.
Please help me with methods or ways to cope with this. Hopefully through spirit my message can manifest. I am willing to go through the pain to release this baby to find a better life and a better loving family because I have no support and my parents don’t live in the same city as me. They both have mental issues. I’m the only one in the family that is sane enough to realize when I’m at fault and try to correct my mistakes. I’m the only one with dreams to do something in my life other than be someone’s baby-mother, and being a single parent.
