Do We Have To Unite With Our Twin Flame To Spiritually Ascend, Or With Our Multidimensional Self?
This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Bluestar Child.
Bluestar Child: In general, is it necessary to unite with your twin flame to spiritually ascend from the third dimension here on Earth, or is it an attachment of the ego that we need to let go of and actually have to unite with our own multi-dimensional selves?
Council: Exactly, let go of the ego. You don’t need anything or anyone else to move up the ladder and go from one dimension to another, which you’ve already done.
And so it’s the beliefs that you must have a twin soul, you have to have a soulmate. No. You need to create what you want with your thoughts. You need, in your prayers, in your meditations, to always want to connect with that higher part of you that knows what it wants to do, that knows what you wanted to experience in this lifetime. That’s all that’s needed. No one else is needed.
BS: Is there a true twin flame?
Council: When you create a twin flame, you take a part of your spirit and send it out there and create the kind of person you want this twin flame to be in your life. So it’s you (as a spirit) taking on the persona of another person: a man, a woman, an animal, whatever it is. But it is you, and you can create this as many times as you want and in as many realities as you want. The twin flame is you.
It’s like you looking in a mirror and saying, “Let me put on this Halloween costume and let me see what I find with this person that I’m creating. What is it about me that I want to learn? Why do I want to create this twin flame so I can feel comfortable? Why do I want to create this twin flame so that I can have a lot in common, so that I can grow at a pace that feels comfortable, that I’m supported by someone (and that someone is you) to go through this reality and [go through] what I want to experience.”
Bob: Do you differentiate between the terms twin flame and soulmate?
Council: The soulmate is someone that you create because you think this soulmate will be the great love of your life. And it’s another spirit that’s agreed to come into your life and play that part.
But when you create this twin flame, it’s the mirror of you. And so there’s not another spirit that’s involved in that.
Bob: So on the subject of twin flames, if it’s another person, how is there not another spirit involved in that?
Council: A twin flame is you. It’s a part of you that you’ve sent out to come in the form of a person, or an animal, or whatever it is that you need.
A soulmate is another soul that perhaps you’ve been in other lifetimes with, or it can be someone new, but it’s a different soul, a different spirit that said, “Yes, I will come in and be whatever we decide we need to be in this lifetime.”
The twin flame is you creating with you.
Bob: I think I understand. It sounds like you’re saying that in spirit you send a part of yourself and create another person, but it’s your actual spirit in the form of another person.
Council: Exactly.
Bob: And you’re calling them a twin flame.
Council: Yes.
Bob: It doesn’t involve the spirit or soul of another.
Council: Excellent, Bob. Yes, you’ve got it.
Bob: But the soulmate…
Council: …is another spirit.
Bob: Thank you very much for that clarification. I appreciate that.
Council: Good question.
Bob: Now we have a point of clarification that we’d like to ask about in our post where we answered Bluestar Child’s first four out of five questions. It was a post entitled, Do I Have A Twin Flame, Not A Soulmate?
Early in that post Bluestar Child said, “I would like to ask The Council if I have a twin flame, and I don’t mean a soulmate.” And you said, You’re going to try to answer them. This can be difficult to understand.” And we appreciate that you just provided some of that clarification.
Council: Yes, we’ve just given you the simplest explanation.
Bob: Now in that previous post, just after that statement, you said, “We were all created at the same time. There are no new souls.” And then you said, “There are souls that are new by creating your current reality.” And we’d like some clarification on those three statements.
Council: There are no new souls, but we’ll say there are millions, or a nice word that Cynthia likes, cazillions of souls everywhere, in every reality, in every dimension. And so there’s not a new soul being born. What happens is, in your reality when you bring a person in, it’s someone that’s agreeing to be here. It’s not a brand new soul. When you give birth, it’s not a brand new soul. The soul could be thousands of years old. We are all here. We are all doing many, many, many things.
So there’s no need to create a new soul. When you feel you want to create something, there’s nothing brand new. You’ll send out a part of yourself for whatever reason so that to your human mind it seems like a new soul, but it isn’t. There’s no need for anything new. We’re all here forever.
Bob: That’s interesting. So it sounds like you’re saying that on a spiritual level, all souls were created at the same time.
Council: Always was, always will be. And there are no words in your language to explain this. It’s just that we’re vibration and we are energy that goes on forever. There is a change in form perhaps, but we are always there.
Bob: And the change in form doesn’t involve any new souls?
Council: Exactly. And believe this or not, we all know each other, all cazillion trillion millions. We’re all connected. How wonderful is that? That will blow your mind.
Bob: So when you say there are souls that are new by creating your current reality, you’re saying that an old soul can seem new by bringing them into our current reality and experiencing them for the first time.
Council: Exactly. It could be a soul that you’ve never been with before so they would feel new.
Bob: But this soul and all souls were originally created all at the same time.
Council: Exactly.

Why Do I Feel So Close to a Dead Russian Musician I Never Met?
This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Krista, who says she thinks she’s found a past life lover whose name is Viktor. I’m American and Viktor was Russian. I was born in 1984 and Viktor was born in 1962. He tragically died in a car accident when he was 28 years old in 1990. I was only 5 years old when he died. We’ve never met each other and I didn’t know he existed until last year (2019).
This all began when I met a Russian man through an online game and we’ve been best friends for the last four years. Last year this friend suggested I look into the underground rock band Victor created when he was alive.
It’s difficult to put into words when I saw Viktor’s face for the first time. I instantly felt I recognized him. I thought he is mine and I am his and it’s been this way forever. When I look into his eyes it feels like looking into a mirror. It feels trance-like. There no doubt in my mind I know this man completely, but we never met in this lifetime.
The Council says you’ve both been together in past lives many, many times in all sorts of relationships: brothers, sisters, parents of each other, cousins, husbands, wife, and teenage love among them. When you see this person or think of him your connection to him is very real.
In your current life, although you never met, there was sort of an agreement that he would drop in or leave a message to let you know he’s around. Even though you never met in your current reality, the bond between the two of you is very strong.
The Council says this situation is two souls recognizing each other. This was Viktor’s way when he planned his life that he wouldn’t meet up with you, but would somehow find a way to let you know you’re still connected and he’s still around you in spirit.
The Council says wanting to be with Viktor is wonderful and where it can’t be in your physical reality in this lifetime, in your dreams and meditations you can be together. There’s no separation. Go forward with what you’ve planned in this lifetime and when you transition Viktor’s spirit will be there to greet you. And probably, from what we’ve seen you’ve done before, you’ll plan more lifetimes together.

Looking for a Man in Her Life
This post answers a question for The Council from Still Looking, who asks if there’s a relationship in her future. Still Looking is in her thirties and ready for a beautiful relationship. She’s tried positive affirmations, meditations, healing, psychic readings, and self-love to make this happen, but her relationship hasn’t arrived yet.
Years have passed and she’s beginning to accept that she’ll be on her own and she says she’s okay with this. But she asks if the psychics are just telling her what she wants to hear, or is there someone for her?
The Council begins by saying it’s entirely up to Still Looking whether she attracts a man into her life. They say because she has a desire for a relationship, it’s there for her in another dimension. Her work is to bring this relationship into her physical reality. And the only way to do this is by believing it’s there and not to get depressed that it hasn’t happened yet.
Every time Still Looking has the thought her relationship isn’t here yet and maybe these psychics are wrong, it only delays the relationship she wants to experience. Be as positive as you can and keep focusing on the fact that this relationship is there.
Still Looking should think to herself all the reasons why she’d like a relationship; what she’d be doing in this relationship; where she’d live; how the future will be; until she makes herself so happy from imagining these things that she’s actually able to bring this relationship into her physical reality.
The Council sees Still Looking had a pre-birth plan to have a partner around this time in her life if she’s willing to do the inner work. The pre-birth intention was to be with a partner and do much traveling together, and they’ve done this in two or three other lives together.
The Council says Still Looking will be included in the life this partner is already living and this will open her up to helping others. She should add this into the details of creating the partner she desires because it’s what she had in mind in her pre-birth plans.
The Council says Still Looking needs to become the creator in her life. It doesn’t matter what anyone else tells her. She creates a partner with her belief that she can. She creates him with her thoughts and feelings of this happening, but don’t put any pressure on herself that she must be in this relationship by a certain date.
The Council says there is someone for Still Looking as long as this is her desire and she’s willing to believe and create this.

The Council
Cynthia is able to communicate with a group of five non-physical spirit guides in a manner similar to the way Esther Hicks communicates with and speaks for the spirit guides, Abraham, and Jane Roberts communicated and spoke for the spirit guide, Seth. I (Bob) basically interview The Council as they speak through Cynthia during what we refer to as a session. Sessions generally last 5-15 minutes and are usually audio recorded. During the session Cynthia is aware of what The Council is saying and she also receives visual impressions and other types of telepathic communication from them.
The Council’s Basic Guidance
Since we began these sessions with The Council around 2009 they consistently emphasize a few basic ideas that we attempt to summarize here:
1) You are an eternal spiritual being in a physical body.
You are the energy and vibration of continuously expanding love, intelligence, and joy.
Your physical experience in your physical body and your psychological experience of your personality is a small part of the totality of who you truly are.
Let yourself imagine from time to time what it might feel like to experience more of the wondrous totality of who you really are, and don’t be surprised if you are able to experience this more often.
2) You are the creator of all that you experience.
As you open to the possibility your true nature is greater than you ordinarily perceive, it becomes easier to consider the possibility that this expanded you is truly the creator of everything that you experience.
If you’re used to thinking of yourself in a more limited sense, the idea that you are the creator of your experience may be difficult to understand. Our post, What About This Idea That We Create Whatever We Desire, offers insights into this idea.
3) You are here to expand the love you are into physical reality.
You chose, as a spiritual being, to come into this physical reality to experience the joy of expanding the love you are as a spiritual being, into this physical reality. This is your purpose for being here.

The left-hand column on the Home page contain a long chronological series of posts with the most recent on top. Each post begins with a title.
