Where Do Souls Come From for Earth’s Increasing Population
In this post The Council answers questions from a reader named Audrey, who says around 1800 the Earth’s population was approximately 1 billion people and now the Earth’s population exceeds 7 billion. Audrey wants to know where the additional souls come from?
The Council says they come from different dimensions, different realities, and sometimes different living environments that are just emotional. They say there are many different places souls can be in to experience other lives. The Council adds that some souls decide to remain in the spiritual reality and help others from there, and they can choose to incarnate into a human reality on Earth when they need to experience something particular, to help someone, or to be supportive to our planet.
While The Council might not clearly explain to everyone’s satisfaction where the increase in souls is coming from, they’re clear that there’s not a one to one relationship between individuals living on Earth at any given time and the number of souls available to inhabit these human bodies. The Council says there are many more souls than can be accounted for in our Earthly reality.
Audrey also asks, as the human population increases and the wild animal population decreases, what happens to the souls of these wild animals? The Council says these souls, like human souls, also have other dimensions they can go to. They can also choose to reincarnate on Earth if they choose to have this experience. And they can reincarnate as other species.
The Council says everything that has a soul, goes on. There’s an ending to the life as we know it in our reality, but the soul continues. There’s no ending.
Bob mentions he’s heard that animals have group souls, but not individual souls, and asks The Council about that. The Council says animals have both individual and group souls just like humans.
Avery asks if animals have the option not to reincarnate, and The Council says they always have this option.
The Council finishes by asking us to remember that all creatures on the Earth path have choices every minute of every day. Every soul has choices. Animals have the choice of how to respond to different humans. The animals’ lesson is always to show love. They have a stronger vibration of love than humans.

Spirit’s Availability in Your Human Experience
It’s one thing to go along with the idea you’re a spiritual being in a physical body, but to what extend do you believe spiritual reality is available to you in your day-to-day human experience? This is an issue for a reader named Bobby, who says she believes it’s important to reach for her connection with spirit. But she seems to rely on psychics and mediums when she wants guidance from relatives and spirits no longer in their physical body, and she wants to know why spirit doesn’t seem to come forward to help her in those sessions.
You Are Never Cut Off From Spirit
As I (Bob) read Bobby’s question to The Council they were quick to point out spirit’s availability, and they emphasized this throughout the session.
“They [spirits] are always available.”
“You are always in touch with these people you believe that have passed on. And while you are waiting for them to appear during a session, you have visits with them constantly. Most [visits] are when you are asleep in the physical body. You connect with these people.
“And we would like to say here that if you have gone many times to other psychics and mediums, and you believe these people [spirits] are not coming forward to speak to you…, maybe it is in part for you to know that these other people, these other psychics, are not necessary for you to connect.
“And so if you meditate, if you ask for signs, in one way or another these spirits (who you believe have passed) will come. And while they may not come and sit down and have a cup of coffee with you, they will come and show you that they are around. But you are constantly in conversation, and you are constantly meeting with these spirits that are passed.”

“When you sleep, when you are what you call unconscious, the beliefs of time and space do not constrict what you can do, and you can, with your thoughts, be in communication with the spirit world, and you can be with the others that have passed. You are never cut off from spirit.”

“Spirit is always willing to communicate, so perhaps…the psychic is not hearing the communication. But usually that is so you can on some level become more determined to have a communication, and know (and here we go again back to you are a spirit in a physical body) you can have this communication yourself.”

Near Death Experiences as Evidence of Spiritual Reality
A reader named Jose wants to know why some people who have a near death experience (NDE) are able to come back to their physical body, and others just have a physical death experience and don’t come back.
From his reading about near death experiences, Jose says it appears that as you cross over from physical reality to spiritual reality, you realize your spiritual magnificence and ability to cure your physical body of any disease or catastrophic accident, and live a wonderful life. With this in mind Jose wants to know why anyone wouldn’t return to their physical body after realizing such power, particularly if they could also prevent loved ones from experiencing the emotional pain and suffering that often occurs when someone departs physical reality.
When You are No Longer in Your Physical Body, You are Still You
“We would like to say here that there are many that have near death experiences and do not have any memory of it, because those who have the near death experience and come back to share it with others, this was part of their plan incarnating into this lifetime.
“At this particular time on a planetary level, many of the souls that are living in the physical body are learning about being spirits in this physical body. But they want some proof that there is more, [that] there is a beyond, that they have come in, that they can (so to speak) die and come back.
“And so the ones that have the near death experiences and return to share that… that was part of their purpose. Much of the information they receive when they are in that near death state… all of it is not remembered and brought back with them. So what is brought back and shared is to help others know that there is a great beyond; there is a better place; there is a spiritual eternity that goes on.”
“The people that do have these near death experiences and come back to share that, it was their agreement that this would happen and they would be carriers of the messages, with proof of what they experienced: that there is more than just living in this physical body.”
“And so it was also planned that all ages would have this experience, and would have proof of what was going on when they were (so-called) dead: that they knew…what was being said, what was going on, who was there. So you have young children experiencing this, old people experiencing [this], middle-aged people [experiencing this].”
“And so when so many different ages and types of people all over your planet are having this experience, it is to bring that information with (what you would say) solid proof that you are a spirit in a physical body. And when you are no longer in that physical body, you are still you. You still exist. Is that understood?”

The Council repeatedly emphasized that not everyone who has a near death experience remembers the magnificence of their spiritual reality when they return to physical reality. Increasing numbers of people are able to remember because this is their intention as a spiritual being, and because they agreed to have this experience to help other souls remember you are part of a spiritual reality beyond your physical experience.
The proof The Council mentions is the ability of people who’ve had near death experiences to accurately report physical reality occurrences that took place while their physical body is unconscious, often at a distance from their physical body that leaves no other explanation for this awareness other than a non-physical/spiritual explanation.
If you believe that who you are will cease to exist when life passes from your body, The Council reminds you that you are the life that passes from your physical body. Who you truly are is the eternal life energy that temporarily occupies your human body.
What About Free Will?
Jose’s question also mentions the aspect of near death experience reports where people say they were told it wasn’t their time to leave their physical body and they were supposed to return to physical reality in order to fulfill some purpose. Jose asks where free will comes in if souls are prevented from making the transition from physical to spiritual reality.
“When you are told to go back, you are also reminded why. And so if many do not remember, they usually will come back saying that they had another purpose, or it wasn’t fulfilled, [or] it wasn’t their time. But the choice is always in the spirit whether to return or not.
“But as we said, so much is experienced that is not remembered [that] you may come back and say, ‘I was told to come back.’ But in reality you choose to come back because of what you’ve experienced, and what you’ve heard, and what you know when you were in the spiritual dimension with us.”
The Council has emphasized in several sessions that your free will as a spiritual being is never compromised. But from your human point of view this can seem questionable if you feel your human desires aren’t being satisfied because something is preventing it.
In Closing
The Council is showing quite a bit of interest in near death experiences lately and we’re beginning to understand why. Many of these reports are of experiences that are difficult to explain by the physical reality conventions that modern societies have come to believe in and depend on. It’s exciting to imagine these reports of near death experiences are helping persuade people that awareness that spiritual reality is at least as important as awareness of physical reality.

The Council
Cynthia is able to communicate with a group of five non-physical spirit guides in a manner similar to the way Esther Hicks communicates with and speaks for the spirit guides, Abraham, and Jane Roberts communicated and spoke for the spirit guide, Seth. I (Bob) basically interview The Council as they speak through Cynthia during what we refer to as a session. Sessions generally last 5-15 minutes and are usually audio recorded. During the session Cynthia is aware of what The Council is saying and she also receives visual impressions and other types of telepathic communication from them.
The Council’s Basic Guidance
Since we began these sessions with The Council around 2009 they consistently emphasize a few basic ideas that we attempt to summarize here:
1) You are an eternal spiritual being in a physical body.
You are the energy and vibration of continuously expanding love, intelligence, and joy.
Your physical experience in your physical body and your psychological experience of your personality is a small part of the totality of who you truly are.
Let yourself imagine from time to time what it might feel like to experience more of the wondrous totality of who you really are, and don’t be surprised if you are able to experience this more often.
2) You are the creator of all that you experience.
As you open to the possibility your true nature is greater than you ordinarily perceive, it becomes easier to consider the possibility that this expanded you is truly the creator of everything that you experience.
If you’re used to thinking of yourself in a more limited sense, the idea that you are the creator of your experience may be difficult to understand. Our post, What About This Idea That We Create Whatever We Desire, offers insights into this idea.
3) You are here to expand the love you are into physical reality.
You chose, as a spiritual being, to come into this physical reality to experience the joy of expanding the love you are as a spiritual being, into this physical reality. This is your purpose for being here.
