Questions About Our German Shepard Who Passed Recently From Cancer

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Teddy’s Dad.

Teddy’s Dad: We lost our beautiful 8-year-old German Shepard dog, Teddy, two days before Thanksgiving. He had undetected metastatic cancer and there was blood around his heart making it difficult to breathe. No surgery could have saved him, and we lost him within 6 hours of detecting he was ill.

Council: How wonderful that he was able to leave this reality so quickly.

Teddy’s Dad: Does Teddy know we had no way to save him?

Council: Yes, of course, he’d know that now that he’s in spirit. And there’s always love between you and this wonderful dog. You can feel him around if you allow yourself to relax, if you speak to him as if he was still here, because he is. He’s not in the same form as when he was in this physical reality, but he is here. And when he’s ready, he’ll let you know that he is around. How wonderful is that?

But there is no suffering where he is, and when the time comes he’ll reincarnate, and in what form will be up to him. Will he come again, as a dog, as a cat, as a mouse, as a human, as a tree? Reincarnation is always up to the spirit and what it would like to experience.

But know that Teddy is around you. There is no loss. You haven’t lost him. You have lost Teddy’s physical body, but everything else is the same. So you’ll feel his love, and the more you talk to him and send love to him, the bond between the two of you is still there. It’s a wonderful thing.

Teddy’s Dad: Who is there to look after Teddy in heaven, and will he come to visit us, if possible?

Council: He is still around you. He’ll come to visit you if that’s what you need, but he hasn’t gone anywhere so he doesn’t need to come to visit. And no one takes care of him in heaven. When you are spirit, you are pure joy, you are health, you are happiness, and that’s all you experience. And you’re with other souls and you’re all together in joy and happiness. And so there’s no need to be taken care of because nothing will go wrong.

Bob: Would you say that other souls look after each other?

Council: They are together, yes, but there’s no need to take care of each other. You can be together, you can hang out together, but you don’t need to take care of each other. You just be. You are in pure love. That is the state you are in.

Bob: The question Teddy’s Dad asks was: Who is there to look after him? That’s not exactly the same thing as taking care of him, but…

Council: Who is there to look after him? Many other souls. They are hanging out together. They are trading their experiences. They’re planning for new lives. They’re just resting. They’re communicating with the people that they’ve left in that reality. They are busy, but they are all well.

Teddy’s Dad: Will Teddy reincarnate, or was he an incarnation of another dog we had before him, as he accepted us right away?

Council: We don’t see Teddy was a reincarnation of another animal you had before, but yes, he has experienced other lives. And when he is ready he will experience more lives.

Bob: Can you say whether Teddy has experienced any other incarnations as a human before?

Council: We feel Teddy’s essence has experienced being human, but the physical form in a reality hasn’t been experienced yet.

And the answer to all questions about how to improve your life and your reality is to be grateful for everything, have positive thoughts, and send yourself and others love.

Is Mom’s Dog, Waylon, Our Deceased Dog, Papi?

This post answers questions for a reader named, Virgo Rising.

Virgo Rising: A few months ago I asked The Council about my deceased dog, Papi, and whether or not he’d reincarnate again to either me or my Mom. You confirmed that he’s come back to my Mom before, and that my Mom’s childhood dog, Tippy, was Papi’s spirit. But you didn’t know what his current plans were, and if he was going to come back to either of us again.

Council: At this time he won’t return to you. There’s a new dog in this environment. These little souls are trying to teach you what you wanted, which was to see love everywhere.

It’s wonderful to think or hope that when a dog comes it’s a reincarnation of another dog we’ve had. But what you’re not seeing here is that it doesn’t have to be a reincarnation for a dog to be loving and to have similar personalities. The lesson for these dogs is to bring love in. They want to be accepted for the way they are.

There are new animal spirits that want to come to you and your mother and be part of your lives. And they want to teach you to open up and to love other animals that you haven’t had before. Love is a great thing. These animals are here to teach you to love who they are and to know they’re different. Isn’t it wonderful to have more spirits come to you? Animals that want to be loved, want to teach you to love, and there doesn’t have to be any ties to them being with you before.

Virgo: Since I asked that question about Papi, my Mom got a new puppy named, Waylon. She swears that Waylon is either Papi or another dog she had in her current lifetime because of the strong connection she has with him. I’m not as convinced this puppy is Papi reincarnated because Waylon’s personality is nothing like Papi’s personality.

Council: Sometimes when a dog comes back they have completely different personalities, but we would say this is not Papi reincarnated. Waylon is brand new to you and your mother.

Virgo: My Mom says she thinks it could be Papi though because Tippy and Papi’s personalities were different, yet they ended up being the same spirit.

Council: Can you love animals with different personalities? They don’t have to be the same. Can you give love to new spirit animals that come to you? That’s the choice. That’s the lesson here.

Virgo: My question is: Is Waylon, Papi reincarnated.

Bob: And you said he’s not.

Council: Correct.

Virgo: And if he’s Papi, does he remember the life he had before with me and my Mom when he was Papi? Or do dogs lose their memories of their previous lives when they incarnate the same way humans do?

Council: When some animals come back to families, they remember. The bond is so strong that the human spirit and the animal spirit will choose to experience each other again. But like humans, many animals just come in, and they come in with love, to show love, and to receive love.

Virgo: If Wayon isn’t Papi, is he another dog or pet that either of us knows from this lifetime?

Council: (laughing) No, he’s not Papi. Waylon is new. Show him love.

Virgo: If Waylon’s not Papi, is there a way to manifest Papi reincarnating again because both of us miss him very much?

Council: Focus on the new spirit. With your mind you can put it out there that past dogs would come back, but that’s not what you wished to do in this lifetime. There are so many animals that need homes and that need love. Can you appreciate what you had in these past animals that you’ve had and allow them to move on? Perhaps they can become more than an animal if that’s where they are.

Can you open your heart to the new ones? This is all about growth. This is all about expanding the love. It’s always good to give a home to an animal that needs it. It’s good for you. The animal will bring out many positive things in you. And it’s certainly good for the dog. The lesson here is expansion.

You don’t need to go backward. You need to move forward. Expand the love to other souls. The animals you’ve had in the past will be around you. They never go far. The lesson here is to expand.

Virgo: It’s weird, but I almost feel like Papi is more than an animal. I feel like he’s part of me and my Mom’s soul group. I even had a dream once where a guide told me Papi was part of my oversoul. I don’t know if that’s true or not. Maybe I interpreted the dream the wrong way, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was because he never felt like just an animal. He feels more like a human, as crazy and ridiculous as that sounds.

Council: At this point focus on the future. Focus on moving forward. Focus on expanding. The love you’ve received from these animals before is still with you, and they are still with you.

What you need to understand is these little souls want you to move forward and want you to help other little souls that come to you. That is your purpose. Your purpose was to experience strong connections and strong feelings of love. Now pass it on.

There was a movie named, Pay It Forward. Take what you’ve received and now look for others that need your love. Pay it forward.

And so we send you blessings in every area that you need them. And we remind you that you all are a blessing in your current reality.

Will My Deceased Dog Come Back To Me In His Next Life?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, KG, who says: About four years ago my dog, Papi, passed away. I’ve never had a connection to an animal the way I did with him.

Council: The connection to animals is beautiful. They are little spirits that are here to bring you joy. Usually when the connection is so strong, you’ve gone through other lifetimes together.

KG: It’s crazy, but I loved him like a person. The love I had for him was so much deeper than the way most people love pets. Losing him felt like losing a sibling. It’s been four years and I can’t get over it. I feel like a part of me is missing.

Council: Wouldn’t it be nice to change your focus and not be sad, and not be in a place where you can’t let go of your grief, and not get over that this dog is gone? What you should be focusing on is the joy you brought each other and the possibility Papi may come back to you.

In spirit, Papi’s experiencing love and joy. There’s no sadness in spirit. It’s always the human that has a hard time letting go because they don’t realize we never really lose them. They’re around like a human form is around when it passes. And like a human form doesn’t want you to be sad about them, Papi, or any animal doesn’t want you to feel sad about them. You need to come from a place of love, and remember, and be joyous about it. The sadness keeps you stuck, and that’s not what’s wanted by the human spirit and by the animal in spirit.

KG: I know dogs can reincarnate and I just want him back. Even if he doesn’t go to me and he goes to another relative, that would make me so happy because I’m not really in a situation where I can take on another pet right now.

Council: We understand you want Papi to come back, but suppose there’s something Papi wants to experience and it needs to experience it with a different family so it can give that family what it’s looking to experience? That doesn’t mean you won’t feel Papi around you, or you won’t have time together again if that’s what you both want.

The best thing you can do is explain to Papi in your mind how much you love him. Continuously keep sending him love and feeling it back. You can ask Papi for a sign. Ask if he’s here with you and are you coming back? Ask these questions, but ask from a place of hope, happiness, and joy, not from a place of sadness.

KG: I’ve gone to pet psychics who’ve told me he’d come back, but he hasn’t yet and I’m wondering why. My Mom plans to get a new puppy soon and I feel like this would be the perfect opportunity for his spirit to come back to us. I really hope he’ll choose to.

Council: Perhaps this will be, but you have to be in a place of allowing. Papi may come back to you, or there may be another dog that needs to be with your family. You may have to learn something different from another spirit animal. But be open. If Papi doesn’t come back into physical reality, he’s still with you. You can still have conversations. You can still ask for signs. You can still feel the love. Allow everyone to experience what’s needed in this next step.

KG: My Mom’s actually told me several times in the past that she felt like Papi was her childhood dog, Tippy, and thinks since he came back to her once, he can do it again. Is this the case? Was Papi the dog my Mom had in her childhood?

Council: Yes, we do believe that was the same spirit.

KG: Also, does Papi have any messages for us?

Council: Only of wonderful love. Meditate. Sit quietly and ask to feel the love from Papi. You will feel it. If you have conversations with Papi and ask for signs, you will get them, but you must be in a place of happiness. When you’re in a place of sadness or grief, you won’t feel what any spirit, even an animal, is trying to send you.

When you speak to Papi’s spirit and ask, Can you come back? Are you around me? Send that message with love. Smile when you’re sending that message. You can think, I love you and I want to feel you around. Can you show me the way I can feel this? Can you send me a sign? Always come from a place of happiness. It’s a higher vibration.

KG: Does Papi plan to reincarnate to either me or my Mom in the future? And if he does, how can we recognize him?

Council: We don’t know what he’s planning right now. And why would we spoil the surprise? You’ll learn from this. You’ll recognize him because you’ll ask for signs, and you will see.

KG: Also I have so many dreams about Papi and I feel like it’s him visiting me. Is this the case?

Council: Oh yes. Definitely.

KG: Sorry to ask so many questions about this. I just miss him so much and I’m so desperate to feel a connection to him again.

Council: You can feel a connection when you come from a place of joy. Have fun with this. Expect many wonderful surprises. That’s all we can tell you right now.

KG: I love all my pets, but it’s just so much deeper with Papi. I can’t explain it, but I feel like he was a part of me and now that part of me is gone. Even after all this time, I’m still struggling with the loss.

Council: The first error there is that he’s not gone, and that’s what you should meditate on.

We send you all love, and light, and happiness, and beautiful experiences. Go forward on your path, whatever you choose. And always remember to bring love into every situation.
