Ask The Council

What will you ask Spirit?

Why am I Having Mental and Physical Health Problems?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Carl, who’s wondering why he’s increasingly having problems with his mental and physical health and vitality despite feeling more aware of God, and he wants to know what he’s doing to perpetuate this struggle. He also feels he has a big purpose in this lifetime and asks how the world will come to know him.

The Council asks Carl what routine he uses for getting to know God. Do you feel the joy and happiness from knowing God? Do you feel all is well? If you feel this way the mental and physical challenges you’re going through will decline. The Council says to read about God is one thing and to think about God is another, but they ask Carl to find the feeling of God. Go into your heart and look for the light, even if it’s just a pinpoint. Grow into this light and have it expand. In this light feel for God. God is within you.

The Council says any physical and mental problems always stems from the spirit being confused on it’s path. By bringing the focus of God back into your life and your body the physical and emotional challenges you feel, no matter what they are, will slowly disappear.

How quickly Carl is able to feel better depends on him. How often are you willing to feel the presence of God in your heart and sit in this vibration? Once you begin to do this, even if it’s just for one minute, you’ll begin to see the change. You’ll see how nice this feels and you’ll want to stay in this vibration. You’ll gradually meditate for longer periods of time to stay in this vibration longer and your life will begin to change.

The Council says by Carl not being enough in the light his thoughts aren’t appropriate for what he’s trying to achieve. Change your thoughts. Focus on the energy of love. Be kinder to yourself and do more things you enjoy. If you can get in the vibration of laughter you’ll begin to heal faster.

The Council says each spirit that’s here knows Carl. The fastest way to get people to know you and want to know more about you is to offer these people love, kindness, a service if you can help someone, or an ear to listen to them. As people begin to see you their idea of who you are also changes. The Council says you can take this into any part of your life. You can take this into relationships, you can take this into your career, and you can take this into family matters. By working on this level of love, kindness, and service, doors will open to you and people will want to be around you.

Why is My 4-Year Old Son So Attached to Me?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader who goes by the name, WorriedMom, who has a 4-year old son who’s very sensitive, introverted, and attached to her. She knows this is typical for his age, but he always wants to be with her. Why is he so attached to me, and how can I make him stronger rather than so sensitive and anxious to leave me for even a little while?

The Council says they prefer the word, intuitive, for her son rather than introverted, and they add that he’s learning to deal with this. It’s not WorriedMom’s job to keep her son from being so sensitive. This sensitivity is a tool that will help him as he grows.

Being attached to you is very normal at this age. In this lifetime his closeness with you will raise these questions for you. Your son’s childhood will evolve and this great tie he has with you will change. Why do you find your son’s attachment disturbing?

Your son is a gifted child. The best you can do for him is to spend time with him and your husband together. The three of you should play games and go for walks together. When your son does spend time alone with your husband he should give your son lots of praise.

Your son is here to learn a lot about family. There were other dynamics in other lifetimes where your son was abandoned, where he had no family, where he lost his family, and where he left a lifetime early. In his current lifetime your son wants to learn what it’s like to be fully involved with a family.

Please don’t criticize your son for what you imagine as weakness. This is just your son evolving and bringing in memories from other lifetimes that he’s working on in this lifetime. You don’t have to change your son or get him to be less close to you. This will come when your son feels safe.

Right now your son doesn’t have the words to explain the way he feels, but when he begins to talk more of things he sees or hears, or he asks questions that seem more about the spirit world, please acknowledge these things when you speak with him. Always ask him about what he’s seeing and feeling. Read up on children who are spiritually gifted and can feel energy.

It’s your job to learn how to raise this gifted child. Learn how to be patient, how to be loving, and how to always soothe him when you think he’s upset. Teach him everything is well in our world and teach him about gratitude. This is what he’ll go on to learn about. This is your son’s purpose.

Listen to the audio recording of our entire 7-minute session with The Council (bekiw) to hear all their guidance for WorriedMom and the rest of us, and let us know what you feel about it, or ask The Council your own question.

Trusting You are Spirit in a Physical Body

Jaqueline’s Question

This is the first of two posts answering questions from Jaqueline, who asks The Council how to follow her inner guidance and find inner peace “even when things seem to be so messed up” in her life.

Jaqueline writes that she understands and sincerely believes in teachings like The Council’s and other teachers she’s familiar with who say, “We shouldn’t worry about anything ever because everything is gonna be just fine,” and, “We should enjoy life and think about whatever we want in our future in a positive vibration.” “But sometimes [it] is really hard to put this in practice.”

We like Jaqueline’s question because it frankly addresses a dilemma faced by many of us who are trying to follow teachings like The Council’s. In our saner moments these teaching make a lot of sense to us; they inspire us and lift our spirits. But sometimes, despite our best efforts, life can feel like an insurmountable challenge. When this happens it can feel equally challenging to remember and put in to practice these teachings about who we are as spiritual beings.

At the time Jaqueline wrote her questions for The Council she commented that, “All the time my head seems to be full of stressful thoughts about my future…about my present…if I’m going in the right direction…if I should do something…or nothing at all. Sometimes I get trapped in some drama and get very emotional about everything. Resuming, I have a hard time going with the flow.”

Stressful thoughts, feeling trapped, and feeling other unwanted emotions can be a challenge. When we feel this way and we also believe we’re not supposed to ever worry about anything and we should always be enjoying life, these expectations can sometimes add to the challenge of turning the situation around so we can ‘go with the flow’.

On July 24, 2012 we had a conversation with The Council (non-physical spiritual guides speaking through Cynthia) to get their advice on how to feel more in touch with well-being on a day-to-day basis when life seems to make this difficult.

This session contains many helpful insights, but for us the highlight is the reminder to meditate regularly on the idea that each of us is a spiritual being in a physical body. The Council advises that this type of regular meditation will help us feel more trusting that we really are spiritual beings, and this trust will help us through difficult times.

Interestingly, The Council says that as spiritual beings we actually look forward to these challenging human experiences because we view them as desirable opportunities to expand who we are as spirit into a physical reality.

This post relates the details of this session with The Council, and also includes some information on two meditation techniques they recommend. We plan to publish separate posts describing these meditations in more detail and eventually we plan to include audio recordings of these meditations as guided meditations.

This session also included The Council’s answer to Jaqueline’s question about whether she is going in the ‘right direction’ career-wise, and how career choices relate to experiences we have in other lifetimes. We feel this information is better suited to a separate post and we plan to publish that post in the near future also.
