Did I Know This Man I Love in Another Lifetime?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Susie, who says she fell madly in love with a boy when she was 16 years old. My father was a holocaust survivor and the boy wasn’t Jewish so he broke us up. I got married, but I’ve loved this boy for the rest of my life. Four years ago and 45 years after we broke up I contacted this man and he was as amazing as he was when I was 16. I’m still madly in love with him.

The Council says in at least four lifetimes Susie was childhood friends or brother and sister with this man and there’s great love from these past lives.

Susie says she has nothing in common with her husband, but she still loves him, but nothing like the way she feels for this boy she met when she was 16. She says the boy got involved with drugs when she left him, he’s become an alcoholic over the years, and she feels responsible.

The Council says it’s not necessary to feel responsible for this man. These are his lessons and his choices. You have no idea what people are trying to learn when they are going through something they’ve chosen. You’ve only agreed to be there for part of his experience.

Susie says she wants to cure this man. The Council says you don’t cure anyone. You show love, you show acceptance, compassion, and patience. You’re there to possibly suggest a way to follow through on what they’re experiencing, but you don’t cure them. This isn’t your responsibility.

Susie says her daughter was born with an eating addiction and she’s trying to heal both her daughter and this man she met when she was 16. The Council says again that Susie can’t heal them. Everyone chooses what they need to experience, even if they don’t remember in their human body why they make their choices. There are things they need to experience for soul growth and to teach the people around them. You can’t cure these people or change their path.

Susie says she feels her daughter and this love of her life are meant to be together. The Council says she didn’t choose in spirit to be married to this man in her current lifetime. What was chosen was familiarity, friendship, closeness, and support. You’ve chosen to be friends with this man because there are things you need to learn. Everyone has a lesson. This doesn’t mean you’re meant to be married or in an intimate relationship like marriage. Be there to learn from each other. The three of you wanted to experience acceptance.

Susie says she needs The Council to release her daughter and this man from their soul contract. The Council says they can’t release anyone from their soul contract. No one is in charge of releasing someone from their contract but themself. In your human form you may not understand why you’ve made certain choices, but your higher self knows. When your higher self knows you’ve learned your lesson or experienced enough you’ll release yourself.

Between you, your daughter, and your friend you need the ability to speak with each other, listen to what’s truly going on rather than what you think is going on, show acceptance, and allow each other to be who they are. Allow them to make their own choices. Give love and compassion and know every step of the way you’ll find something to learn from your experience.

The Council says in the past lives Susie and her friend have shared there’s been a lot of happiness and fun and that love has drawn them together in their current life to go through more difficult challenges.

The Council tells Susie she’s here to experience love, to bring love from the spirit world into your current reality. In every way you can show love to yourself, to this friend, and to your daughter.

If a Soul Chooses a Difficult Life, Does the Soul Enjoy Suffering?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader who goes by the name, ImportantOrNotBlog, which are based on an earlier post titled, Some Interesting Questions About Spirit. ImportantOrNotBlog asks if a soul chooses a life of difficulty full of pain and hardship, does that mean the soul enjoys suffering?

The Council says when you choose, as spirit, whatever you choose before you come into your current reality, you always think you’re a spirit and you’ll know how to handle whatever it is you’ve chosen. But when you come into your reality, you forget how to handle what you’ve chosen and how to turn it towards love.

The purpose of of forgetting is to learn how to work with whatever you’ve chosen and be able to turn it around. When you do this, there is major soul growth. This process can be very difficult for some people. But the more you can accept the hardship you’ve chosen, and show patience, and learn to work with your situation and slowly see it improve, you’ll feel stronger about yourself knowing no matter what the obstacle you’ve created for yourself, you’re working on it.

It’s not that the soul enjoys suffering. It’s important to remember who you truly are as a spiritual being in a physical body. As you’re able to bring the feeling of spirit into your physical reality, the easier it will be for you to experience positive changes.

The Council points out that sometimes there are spiritual contracts to teach people around you by your example because in other lifetimes these people didn’t have the compassion you’re learning in this lifetime. Or maybe the people around you were sick in another lifetime and you took care of them, and now they want to experience the other side of the coin and they choose to care for someone in this lifetime.

There’s a lot going on with people who are experiencing difficulties, and these difficulties aren’t only for the person experiencing them, because these people have agreed with the others around them how each one of them will grow from these difficulties. It’s a great blessing for everyone involved with these difficulties to go through them concentrating on compassion and love.

ImportantOrNotBlog says they understand difficult situations are for soul growth, but they ask, to what end? The Council says there isn’t any end, there’s just growth. When you return to spirit and you see the lives you’ve touched, you want to do more. And so you create lives where you have the opportunity to do more so you grow and the people in your life grow. And the more love you bring into your reality, the less suffering there will be.

ImportantOrNotBlog asks The Council if souls exist at different levels? The Council says if you mean is one soul smarter than the other, they respond that in some lifetimes the answer is yes and in some lifetimes the answer is no, but we’re all growing and everyone grows at their own pace. We’re all trying to evolve into spirit so everyone can experience love.

ImportantOrNotBlog closes by asking if soul growth helps the soul get to a higher spiritual level? The Council says they don’t feel comfortable with the word, level, but they say soul growth will take you to a higher spiritual understanding. It brings more love into your world and you grow. And with this love, as it grows within you, you want to share this love, and you’re in a great hurry to get back into another lifetime so you can stretch that love and grow more from it. And you want to put this love into another reality so others can feel this love and grow from it.

Why Can’t I Plan a Life Where Everything Falls Into Place?

This post answers questions for The Council about choices and consequences from a reader named, Audrey. She begins by saying that in our physical reality we have many opportunities to make a variety of life-changing choices. The Council interjects here that having choices is your main power and you have choices in everything.

Audrey goes on to say that once a decision is made, the consequences can be difficult and long-lasting. To this The Council responds that they can also be joyful. The consequences are only long-lasting if you allow them to be.

Audrey continues, “Examples can range from marrying the wrong person, to taking a crappy job, or saying the wrong thing even if it’s the truth and the surrounding people choose only to deal in fiction.”

The Council says coming into this reality you knew you’d have choices and life wouldn’t be perfect. When you’re making the wrong decisions, or you made a decision that now feels wrong, you have the ability to change these decisions and correct what you’ve done. You don’t have to stay in a bad situation.

In spirit, you think you’ll try something in your physical reality and if you don’t like it you’ll try something else. When you’re on the Earth path, whatever your choices are and they aren’t bringing you joy, then you change your choice. You change how you act in that situation and you bring love into it. If the situation doesn’t change, then you make a another decision, and another decision.

The important thing is to consider what you’ve learned from each of your choices. If you choose an abusive spouse and you get out of this relationship but don’t understand how you got into this relationship in the first place, if you don’t ask yourself what you’ve learned in this relationship and move on to another relationship, somewhere in that new relationship you’ll find more abuse. Each thing you’d like to change, it’s important to ask yourself why you don’t like this situation. How can I make this situation better. You have the ability to make these changes.

Audrey says she doesn’t like that pain, hardship, and difficulty from our choices can last for years in some instances. The Council replies this is always your decision.

Audrey writes that this blog says these experiences are for learning and soul growth, but this is difficult for her to accept. The Council says when you’re hurt or upset and you look at your situation in the moment it happens, try to pull back from the situation and look at it, realize you’re responsible for creating this situation, and ask yourself why you’ve brought it into your life. You have a choice to change your circumstances.

Audrey says she’s tried to make the right choices in her life and with hindsight these choices now seem wrong and she wonders what her life would have been like if she made different choices. The Council advises Audrey to focus on what she wants and can create now rather than think about what her life would have been like if she made different choices. Her life was what it was, and thinking about what it would have been won’t change that. Learn from what her life was and start focusing on on how she wants to move forward.

Audrey says if she’s learned her lesson from the choices she’s made, in this lifetime she can’t apply those lessons again because she’s not faced with the same opportunities. The Council says there will be similar opportunities, and if you’ve truly learned your lessons, you’ll make different choices.

Audrey closes by saying she doesn’t understand why we can’t just plan a peaceful, simple life where everything falls into place. The Council says when we’re in spirit, we know our physical reality isn’t a perfect place and we’ll make mistakes, but we want to jump into our reality and experience it. This is exciting for our spiritual being.

If life was perfect it would be like laying on a beach every day of your life – never leaving the beach, just laying there. After awhile this would get very boring. Where is the soul growth? Where is the learning? How do you experience what you can create?

You have complete control over how you create your opportunities, good and bad, and how you move forward in your life. In spirit this is very joyous and exciting for you. You ask yourself how you’ll jump into this life, make these opportunities positive, and bring love into them so you can feel that you’ve changed your perspective and your understanding. That’s why everything isn’t like laying on the beach or just falling into place.

Why Go Through Pain to Have Your Soul Grow?

This post is inspired by a question from Asher who asks The Council why it’s necessary to go through pain and hardship in order for our soul to grow? He feels sad human beings aren’t capable of anything else and he wishes to enroll in a cosmic school where spiritual growth is a positive experience.

The Counsel says Asher is already in that school and it’s not necessary to create situations where growth only takes place through suffering and struggle. He has the choice to change his life through his beliefs.

If Asher feels the only way his soul can grow is through suffering, that is what he’ll create. But The Council says we come to this world to grow in love, not through suffering. And as we stay in the vibration of love, less struggle will occur.

The Council advises Asher to take his greatest power, which is choice, and change the way he sees this. In response to his comment that humans aren’t capable of anything else The Council replies that humans are also spirit. They are one and whatever you go through, you learn from it together.

This session is only about 5-minutes long, but there’s lots of valuable information in it. Listen to what The Council has to say for the full story.
