Ask The Council

What will you ask Spirit?

Is a Drive-By Shooting Pre-Planned in Spirit?

This is a follow-up question for The Council from a reader named, Pakt, who previously asked the question, Is Human Abortion a Violation of Nature? In their current question they quote The Council, who says in the post on abortion that you create everything you experience. Pakt goes on to say, “Hypothetically, let’s say I’m killed in a drive-by shooting. This creates hardship and grief for my family. So this would be a wanted event in spirit?”

The Council says, yes, this event was planned in spirit. What does your family want to learn from this experience? What did the person who was killed learn from this experience? What does the person who commits the murder learn from this? Each person will have their own lesson. In spirit, before coming into this lifetime, the experience of this drive-by shooting was spoken about by all the spirits involved.

Everything that’s planned in spirit is something that’s wanted to be learned from. Perhaps the family of the person that was killed wants to learn forgiveness. Perhaps the killer wants to change his life completely and learn to forgive himself, and show kindness, and do good works for others. There are many, many reasons this sort of situation is created. In spirit everyone is excited by the opportunity to bring love into this situation.

Pakt says it seems to them that planning this murder in spirit absolves the killer of any wrong doing. The Council says there isn’t any absolving of wrong doing because this experience is agreed upon in spirit. The lessons go deeper in this sort of situation.

Pakt asks if the concepts of good, bad, right, and wrong are human constructs, but no such concepts exist in spirit? After some more discussion of what was learned by this shooting, The Council says in spirit there is only right, no wrong or bad. Everything is simple in spirit. When you get into our physical reality things become difficult, and that’s how we grow.

The Council asks us to try and see the murderer as someone who’s playing out what was agreed to in spirit. There’s more discussion about what’s learned from this shooting by all parties involved, and the suggestion that as we learn more we can begin to see this shooting from the point of love.

The Council says good, bad, right, and wrong are human constructs. Only good exists in spirit and we are here on the Earth path to try and bring the good that exists in spirit into our physical reality.

The Council closes by saying we don’t have to accept the murder as right or wrong, but they ask us how we can bring more understanding into this situation.

We found The Council to be clear on their answer that this hypothetical drive-by shooting was planned in spirit. And they were clear on good, bad, right, and wrong being human constructs. The Council is also clear this shooting is a learning experience, but maybe because this is a hypothetical situation, The Council wasn’t able to provide the specificity we’ve come to expect from them.

Listen to our entire 7-minute session with The Council to hear all their guidance for Pakt and the rest of us, and let us know how you feel about it.

Why Can’t I Plan a Life Where Everything Falls Into Place?

This post answers questions for The Council about choices and consequences from a reader named, Audrey. She begins by saying that in our physical reality we have many opportunities to make a variety of life-changing choices. The Council interjects here that having choices is your main power and you have choices in everything.

Audrey goes on to say that once a decision is made, the consequences can be difficult and long-lasting. To this The Council responds that they can also be joyful. The consequences are only long-lasting if you allow them to be.

Audrey continues, “Examples can range from marrying the wrong person, to taking a crappy job, or saying the wrong thing even if it’s the truth and the surrounding people choose only to deal in fiction.”

The Council says coming into this reality you knew you’d have choices and life wouldn’t be perfect. When you’re making the wrong decisions, or you made a decision that now feels wrong, you have the ability to change these decisions and correct what you’ve done. You don’t have to stay in a bad situation.

In spirit, you think you’ll try something in your physical reality and if you don’t like it you’ll try something else. When you’re on the Earth path, whatever your choices are and they aren’t bringing you joy, then you change your choice. You change how you act in that situation and you bring love into it. If the situation doesn’t change, then you make a another decision, and another decision.

The important thing is to consider what you’ve learned from each of your choices. If you choose an abusive spouse and you get out of this relationship but don’t understand how you got into this relationship in the first place, if you don’t ask yourself what you’ve learned in this relationship and move on to another relationship, somewhere in that new relationship you’ll find more abuse. Each thing you’d like to change, it’s important to ask yourself why you don’t like this situation. How can I make this situation better. You have the ability to make these changes.

Audrey says she doesn’t like that pain, hardship, and difficulty from our choices can last for years in some instances. The Council replies this is always your decision.

Audrey writes that this blog says these experiences are for learning and soul growth, but this is difficult for her to accept. The Council says when you’re hurt or upset and you look at your situation in the moment it happens, try to pull back from the situation and look at it, realize you’re responsible for creating this situation, and ask yourself why you’ve brought it into your life. You have a choice to change your circumstances.

Audrey says she’s tried to make the right choices in her life and with hindsight these choices now seem wrong and she wonders what her life would have been like if she made different choices. The Council advises Audrey to focus on what she wants and can create now rather than think about what her life would have been like if she made different choices. Her life was what it was, and thinking about what it would have been won’t change that. Learn from what her life was and start focusing on on how she wants to move forward.

Audrey says if she’s learned her lesson from the choices she’s made, in this lifetime she can’t apply those lessons again because she’s not faced with the same opportunities. The Council says there will be similar opportunities, and if you’ve truly learned your lessons, you’ll make different choices.

Audrey closes by saying she doesn’t understand why we can’t just plan a peaceful, simple life where everything falls into place. The Council says when we’re in spirit, we know our physical reality isn’t a perfect place and we’ll make mistakes, but we want to jump into our reality and experience it. This is exciting for our spiritual being.

If life was perfect it would be like laying on a beach every day of your life – never leaving the beach, just laying there. After awhile this would get very boring. Where is the soul growth? Where is the learning? How do you experience what you can create?

You have complete control over how you create your opportunities, good and bad, and how you move forward in your life. In spirit this is very joyous and exciting for you. You ask yourself how you’ll jump into this life, make these opportunities positive, and bring love into them so you can feel that you’ve changed your perspective and your understanding. That’s why everything isn’t like laying on the beach or just falling into place.

Listen to our entire 7-minute session with The Council to hear all their guidance for Audrey and the rest of us, and let us know how you feel about it.

Is God Evolving?

In this post The Council answers a question I (Bob) had recently while reading the book, Conversations With Mary, by Anna Raimondi. Ms. Raimondi is an intuitive, like Cynthia, who is able to communicate with the spirit of the virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. In a chapter titled, Why Are We Here?, Anna asks Mary if God is evolving. The short answer (p. 82) is that God is constant and always the same. This struck me as unusual because I was under the impression from our sessions with The Council that what we call God is continually evolving.

So I asked The Council if God is evolving, they answered, always, which appears to contradict Anna’s message. The Council goes on to say when God decided to create life, little pieces of itself (God’s self) go into every individual, and God learns from these experiences he’s having in each soul that’s creating life. … And so we say, God is evolving, God is always creating more, and is always learning from the experience.

When I ask what Mary may have meant when she says that God’s always the same, The Council says it was Mary’s belief that her God already knew everything that would ever happen. The God Mary believed in didn’t need to evolve. He was the all mighty, the always was and the always will be. No growth is needed in this version of the all mighty God because it was believed it already was and always would be.

When Bob asked if we understand God differently now, The Council says as we learn that we are spirits in physical bodies, and we are creating our lives, and we are learning, God is within us. As we are learning, God is learning.

The Council goes on to say God is always evolving because we, as humans, are always evolving. Nothing is stagnant, nothing stays still, everything changes, everything grows. The more love we feel and show each other, the more love God feels and the more God expands.

Listen to our entire 6-minute session with The Council to hear all their guidance about God’s evolution, and let us know how you feel about it.

What Is My Life Purpose?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named Merry, who asks what her main purposes are for this lifetime, or if there’s a thematic purpose between all her lives.

The Council says it’s not necessary to know about past lives unless you’re working out something you’re trying to heal or experience and you need that extra bit of information. The reason you don’t remember your other lives is that it’s not necessary to remember them. You come into your current lifetime planning to concentrate on what you’re creating in your current lifetime.

The Council says we always have things from past lives that we work on in our current lifetime, but sometimes it’s not necessary to reach into another lifetime to find the answer, unless you’ve tried many things and still feel there’s something missing, or the answers to help you grow or see your path clearer aren’t happening without some other lifetime information.

The Council sees the main reason for Merry’s current lifetime is to meet a lot of people and try to see, especially if the people are difficult, beyond these peoples’ challenges, and to learn from this and then move on. They say she doesn’t intend for these relationships to be long lasting.

What was experienced when you were a child are experiences that are just passing. Can you look at your parents and other family members and see what you’ve learned? You are a spirit and don’t need to feel abandoned, less than, or unwanted. Look at each relationship and ask yourself what are you learning from it? Things that you’ve experienced that you might call negative, aren’t negative; they’re just experiences you want to learn from.

The Council says Merry’s current life is wide open and to just experience the in and out of her relationships. As she looks at her life this way, The Council says she’s able to have quite a bit of fun with it and learn at a quick pace, and then create different experiences that she’d like to bring into her current lifetime.

Listen to our entire 7-minute session with The Council to hear all their guidance for Merry and the rest of us, and let us know how you feel about it.

What Happens Spiritually When Someone Commits Suicide?

This post answers questions for The Council by a reader who goes by the name, Lone Creator, who asks what happens when a spirit prematurely exits its incarnation because it doesn’t like the lessons it’s chosen?

The Council says you never stop learning, even if you don’t understand your situation while still in your physical incarnation. If you choose to end your current lifetime by suicide or by creating an incurable disease, The Council says this isn’t a problem.

Sometimes because your life and the lessons you chose involve other people, another spirit can come in and take your place so that these other people can continue their lessons. This is agreed upon in spirit before you come into this reality. When Bob asked for clarification on this point, The Council said in spirit you discuss with your guides what you’d like to create in your lifetime so they can help you with this. Sometimes your guides will advise you that you’ve planned too much, but they have to step back and let you create what you desire.

When you plan a lot and your guides question whether you’ll be able to accomplish what you intended even with their help, and you decide to prematurely leave your body, there’s the question of what happens to the other people in your life that are counting on you to help them finish their lessons. In this situation you are needed and so another spirit comes in to take your place and allows these people to continue with their lesson.

The Council says this doesn’t happen very often, but spirit substitution is a possibility. The spirit enters the same body, other people won’t know there’s been a change, and you won’t remember another spirit has come in to finish your life.

The Council says you always have the choice to complete this life early. When you desire to give up a particular lifetime, you’ll create something in your life that will end it prematurely. You can develop a disease, have an accident, or create a suicide. You can find a way out of your life, but The Council adds that most of the time you try and finish what you originally intended.

Listen to our 7-minute session with The Council to hear all their guidance for Lone Creator and the rest of us, and let us know how you feel about it.

Why Someone Would Choose to be Born with a Cognitive Disability

This post answers Pakt’s question for The Council about why someone would choose to be born with a cognitive disability. She works in a classroom with students who have these disabilities and read that people with Down Syndrome committed suicide in another lifetime.

The Council says people can choose a cognitive disability just for the experience and to understand what this feels like. In another lifetime if someone they knew had this disability and they didn’t show understanding and love, perhaps they’d choose to experience it in this lifetime and to see if they can bring love into it.

And sometimes people will choose a cognitive disability to teach the people around them about this disability. They do not choose to experience a cognitive disability because they’ve committed suicide in another lifetime.

Pakt says she always thought people choose to experience a cognitive disability so the rest of us can learn from these people as opposed to these people learning a lesson. The Council says these people with disabilities also learn. When we choose different experiences, whether they are happy ones or challenging ones, we also choose the people that will go through this with us because of what they want to learn and we can help them. But The Council says we always want to learn from having the experience of a cognitive difficulty or some other difficulty. There is a learning on everyone’s part.

Listen to this brief 2-minute recording of our session with The Council to hear all their guidance for Pakt and the rest of us on why someone would choose to experience a cognitive difficulty in this lifetime, and let us know how you feel about it.

Are There Spirit Realms?

This post is inspired by questions from an appreciative reader named Vacha, who’s been reading about spirit realms and asks The Council’s opinion about these realms. Vacha also asks what she intended, as spirit, to learn in this lifetime.

The Council says they don’t see the existence of the spiritual realms Vacha is speaking of. Instead they see expanding and learning from each incarnation and growing from challenges, happiness, what you learn from the people around you, and how you handle situations and treat people. You keep creating until you feel you no longer need to experience these Earthly realities.

In between these Earthly realities The Council doesn’t perceive any realms. But there are different ways you can help your spirit expand. You can be a guide or helper to people who are experiencing Earthly realities. You can be in spirit and help other spirits create their new Earthly realities. There are many things you can do in the spirit world, but The Council says it’s not like climbing a ladder. The main purpose of everyone’s life is to take the love from spirit and bring it into whatever reality  you are focusing on.

On Vacha’s question about what she intended to learn in this lifetime, The Council says one of her lessons is to be very independent and on her own, but also to expand her learning about many different subjects in addition to the spirit world. She wanted to acquire more intelligence and understanding, and The Council feels she is doing this.

Based on her reading, Vacha expresses the idea we can either expand or come down in a realm. The Council repeats there are no realms and says if you think you either expand or get demoted, they say you can never move backwards.

Vacha asks how we can expand the learning experiences in this lifetime and The Council says the way we learn is by repeating the challenges and lessons we pick for ourselves until we understand them.

Listen to our entire 7-minute session with The Council (below) to hear all their guidance for Vacha and the rest of us, and let us know what you think.

What Is Consciousness?

This post is inspired by a question from a reader named Mariner2Mother, who read our post, Has Cynthia Been Communicating with a New Consciousness?, and says it got her thinking about consciousness and the act of creation. She appears to ask if consciousness chooses to exist as a human being when it chooses to perceive itself as an individual, separate from everyone and everything?

The Council says consciousness knows it is one with everything. And consciousness knows that itself, as spirit, is able to multiply and create many lifetimes. All things are learning, growing, expanding, and creating on their own level, but we are one whole consciousness.

The Council says consciousness will create situations were it will perceive itself as an individual, but at the same time our higher self knows that it is one and is creating itself as an individual in this lifetime or another lifetime.

The Council says we are all connected. Your friends and family are also you. We learn from everything. In a larger sense, you are everywhere and everything. Our thoughts are shared by everyone, but we may not realize it while we are experiencing our individual lives.

As a parting thought The Council reminds us that as we help another person grow, we also grow.

This session may be a little more difficult than most to understand. We’re still getting benefits from listening to it. Listen to our entire 5-minute session with The Council on Mariner2Mother’s question about consciousness and creation to hear all their guidance on this subject. Perhaps listening more than once might be helpful, and let us know what you think.

Pay Attention to Your Feelings

This post is inspired by follow-up questions from a reader named Wendy, who asks The Council if they see her doing the inner work they recommend and if she’s on the right path at the moment. And The Council replies that if she continues with this work and focuses more on the desires she wishes to create in this lifetime, they feel she’ll get there.

Wendy asks if she’s doing well with her son. And The Council asks Wendy what she thinks, because they always see us doing well, whether we consider we are doing well or not. You are teaching each other and learning, and you will find better ways as you grow.

Wendy says she struggles with anxiety and often wonders if she’ll get where she wants to go. And The Council says as she focuses more on her desires and as she appreciates the positive changes she sees happening, she’ll experience less anxiety.

Wendy is concerned she may move beyond the relationships she has now with the people she loves so much. And The Council says everyone is a spirit and grows at their own pace. Even if she goes beyond these people, she’ll help them move forward with her energy and her love, even if they aren’t on the same path as her.

Wendy wonders whether time is a factor in whether the soul she aborted will return to her. And The Council says her beliefs and thoughts are what determines if the soul will return to her. There is a pre-birth agreement with this soul, but if she believes something can interfere with letting this happen, she can create that instead.

Wendy asks how she can keep her negative and fearful thoughts away so she can manifest the joy, love, and success we all deserve. And The Council asks her to pay attention to her feelings. Her feelings are 100% more correct than when she tries to figure out the answer with her brain and will tell her the direction she wants to go.

The Council sees Wendy able to change her life and create the life she desires.

Listen to our entire 10-minute session with The Council (below) to hear all their guidance for Wendy and the rest of us, and let us know what you think.

June 28, 2011 Thought for the Day

When you say to the universe,
“I want to learn.”
The universe smiles and answers,
“Yes, of course,”
And quickens your mind.
