What Is It About Nordic Countries My Soul Finds So Appealing?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Jaden.

Jaden: I was once told by an intuitive that almost half of my past hundred lifetimes were in the Nordic countries. What is it about this part of the world that my soul finds so appealing?

Council: It wasn’t half of these lifetimes, but we see what you created in those lifetimes was simplicity and community. You liked the feeling of working together. In that lifetime there was balance in everything that was done. There was a great love of what you did for work, but there was always time for play and family. There wasn’t the feeling of competition, but there was a feeling of coming together. Everyone saw themselves and others growing and creating in that life. There was a lot of simplicity and happiness in that lifetime.

In your current lifetime you’re drawn to the family and community life you had in several of those Nordic lives. You were interested in finding something you were interested in doing, and doing it well, but without pressure, and to just enjoy the life you were creating here. It was important to have a partner and have that love and commitment.

Jaden: When I read about Nordic culture, a number of aspects such as sustainability, simplicity, and modesty seem appealing, but I feel like there’s something more than that. I also was previously told I had a Viking lifetime. Are there other lifetimes here that are interesting to know about?

Council: You had several lifetimes as what we would call now a Viking. You loved being on the sea. You loved the travel. You loved the power of when you could go in and conquer a city. You love being able to take whatever it was you wanted. You loved the power in this. And yet you weren’t cruel, but you wanted the adventure of traveling and conquering. These were lives you also enjoyed.

You also had a life in Ireland that you loved, where you raised sheep and grew your own food. In this life it was also the simple and peaceful life you enjoyed.

In a lifetime in Greece you performed and traveled. You performed in arenas in different towns. The performance was something you loved. You loved taking your personality and what you knew of life, and putting it into each character.

There was also a lifetime when you were a female dancer, and you loved the movement and the creativity. Look at your current life and see if you go to dances. Do you love to dance? Do you watch performances? Do you like walking on paths in the woods? Do you like the simpleness and the quietness? This is also something you wished to create in your current life.

Do Souls Need Permission from Other Souls to Learn from the Other Soul’s Lifetimes?

This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named, Mr. Wheeler, who says since we’re all connected I’ve heard spirits can gain experiences from the lifetimes of other souls by downloading or imprinting another soul’s lifetime into their own soul. And he asks if this is something that requires permission from the soul lending the experiences because this sounds intrusive?

The Council says this downloading Mr. Wheeler is talking about doesn’t exist. When each soul goes through its life and returns to spirit, all the information, all that spirit’s thoughts, all the scenes from that life come with them. Because we’re all one in spirit we can all see what comes back with each soul. There isn’t any hiding what happens in a lifetime and there aren’t any secrets. We all learn from each soul who returns to spirit. The imprinting you ask about isn’t necessary and doesn’t happen. We’re all one and we learn from each other.

On a different subject Mr. Wheeler says he feels like he’s had a lifetime that took place in the early part of the 20th century, perhaps in America. I also feel I’ve had one or more lives around Scandanavia that take place around the last two-thirds of the 20th century.

The Council sees Mr. Wheeler living in America in the early 1900s. In this lifetime you belonged to a group of people who helped new settlers build houses and start farms. You were very good at construction, making plans, and teaching people how to begin a new life. It was in the role of a teacher that you lived that life. We see a life in Ireland that’s connected to this life. Again there was farming and raising animals. You also went around helping people get ahead and learn how to live and support themselves by farming and selling goods.

In your current life it would be good to pick a subject you find pleasure in, whether it’s construction, sewing, cooking, farming, painting, or writing. Learn a craft and help people support themselves, grow, and be proud of what they do. Your purpose in your current life is to bring forward what you learned in these past lives in America and in Ireland. The role of teacher and helper is the choice you made in many lifetimes. Learn something you’re interested in, even if you start it as a hobby, and take it forward and share it.

We don’t see any lifetimes in Scandanavia. What comes forward is the lives that are affecting what you planned for your current lifetime. If you lived past lives in Scandanavia they’re not so important in your current life.

Questions About Creating Other Lifetimes

This post answers some follow-up questions for The Council from a reader named, Hubert, to our post, How Do We Create Probable Selves That Have Different Parents? where we talk about the idea you can create anything you desire. He asks if he chooses to create a reality and he wants certain spirits in that life as family members, are those spirits now bound to participate in that reality simply because he has this desire?

The Council says no spirit is ever bound to participate in a lifetime simply because someone else has the desire for them to be in it. You’d discuss this desire with these individuals while you’re still in spirit and if they wish to participate in that life in order to help you or learn lessons they need to learn, as long as it’s in the direction of what they want to experience they’d agree to be in your life.

These decisions are made in spirit beforehand based on what each spirit wants to learn and if it’s a good fit for them. Consideration is also given to whether you’ve been together in previous lifetimes and you need to work something out or expand on some aspect of what’s already been experienced. If all the souls involved agree in spirit to participate in another lifetime then they would agree that somehow in that life you would meet. Sometimes you know ahead of time when this meeting will occur and sometimes you don’t know.

Hubert says there’s a person he’s calling “J” who he’s somewhat acquainted with and feels a connection to.  He asks if he’s shared any lifetimes with her? The Council says there was a lifetime in Ireland that stands out where Hubert had difficulty speaking, had a stutter, and had difficulty pronouncing words so he could be understood. In that lifetime J was a teacher and was very patient with Hubert, helping him to speak and write in order to improve his communication.

Hubert asks if he was to create another lifetime with J as a sibling or a parent, does he create this lifetime on his own or would there be other factors? The Council says everyone creates what they desire and who they want in their life, but it depends on whether J agrees to come into that lifetime again and work with Hubert.

The Council says if J doesn’t want to come into Hubert’s life there are other spirits Hubert has worked with in other lifetimes that would come forward and agree to play the part Hubert wants them to play. The Council adds that if a specific life is desired with J, then the time would come where they both agree on this and create it together.

Past Lives with Her Friend

This post answers a question from a reader named Merry, who asks The Council about past lives she and her friend Melanie (or Mel) may have shared. About 2 years ago Mel reached out to support Merry when she had a difficult health situation. The Council says it’s wonderful when you pre-plan in spirit to share your life with someone and you create a situation where the other spirit says they’ll jump in at that time.

Merry says ever since then she and Mel have synced in ways she’s never experienced before. They understand each other’s weirdly similar family dynamics, their health issues, histories, their goal of wholeness, and they even look similar. They mentor each other and challenge each other to improve their situations. The Council says it’s wonderful how creative you can be in spirit and in the physical body, where both of you go into such detail creating similar lives to make sure you don’t miss each other.

Merry asks if The Council can confirm the she and Mel have shared one or more lives together. And The The Council humorously asks if that’s a serious question at this point.

Around the early 1900s in Virginia they were twin brother and sister happily working on a farm in a very close family.

There was a lifetime in Ireland. Again you were brother and sister and worked the land. This was a time of famine and life was harder than in Virginia.

You were married to each other in Egypt and you both were doctors who traveled to less populated areas to help people. You knew how to heal both the physical as well as the mind and were very successful.

In the 1800s there was a life with a lot of traveling on ships and working on the docks.

The Council advises Merry to support each other. As the relationship grows, you’ll communicate to each other about what you see other people going through, and discuss how you can come up with ideas that will help these people in their lives.

Listen to our entire 6-minute session with The Council (below) to hear all their guidance for Merry and the rest of us, and let us know your feelings on this post.

Should I Move to Ireland with My Daughter?

This post answers questions about moving to Ireland from a reader named D. Back in July, D. mentioned in an earlier question for The Council that her heart keeps pointing her to Ireland, a place she knows nothing about, and The Council encouraged her to visit.

Now she’s returned from that visit and says she connected to the people and the land in a way she’s never felt before. Her heart is telling her to move, but her mind has a lot of doubt and fear about leaving the US, and she’s raising a child on her own. What if she goes and finds she can’t provide an environment of stability for her child?

The Council says this longing is D’s spirit telling her she has an adventure to go through in Ireland. She needs to be there to experience a different kind of life. When she thinks about this move and her heart is full of joy, she won’t be lead astray by her guidance. If she’s created a stable environment for her child in the US, The Council says she knows how to accomplish this and it won’t matter where she is.

The Council points out D. has created her connection to Ireland, and with her desire to go back she can create a way to make this happen. Her thoughts and feelings about going back and having a brand new life will bring into this reality what she’s creating in the reality of her mind.

The Council asks D. to trust and do the work of thinking and feeling her way back to Ireland, and things will come together that make this move possible. They remind D. the universe supported her on her first trip and will continue to support her in finding a way to make a return possible.

D. raises her concern about how this move will affect her child. The Council asks if D. feels Ireland will bring her much happiness, and if her child experiences her being happy, does she understand her child will also experience this happiness.

D. says her mind is pulling her in one direction and her heart and soul are pulling her in another. And The Council tells her they feel she’s already received the answer to her questions by the way she felt when she was in Ireland the first time. They say the challenge of doubt and fear is there for D. to change it into something more loving. Can she acknowledge her doubt and say she’ll make the trip anyway? By taking that leap of faith she will begin to see this desire come into her life.

Those of you familiar with The Council’s guidance from our other posts may think it a little unusual for them to make such a hearty recommendation. Ordinarily we find their guidance is more balanced. So when I said to them it sounds like they’re encouraging D. to revisit Ireland, they enthusiastically respond, “Why not?” Why would D. deny herself the prospect of another joyful visit and perhaps a permanent move there? And that was the end of our session.

Listen to the entire 8-minute session with The Council below for their full guidance.

Bringing Love Into Negativity

This post answers several questions from an anonymous reader named D, who says it’s been a while since she last spoke to us, but feels she’s moved mountains since then and is finally learning to heal from within. D continues that once she opened her heart and started asking questions, she discovered a new world that taught her about life and her purpose on Earth.

D’s has worked in New York for 16 years and says she never realized how negative an environment it was until she became a more positive person. The Council says D speaks of negativity as if it’s something unwanted, but there are many many people who can’t get to a positive place until they experience negativity. And when they become positive there’s great appreciation for what the negative has taught them.

D finds it’s easier to connect with her higher self when she’s in her comfort zone. And The Council says it’s in this quiet time you can hear your guides, stay connected to source, and get help with what you experience as negativity. They go on to say that you create this negativity to see how you can bring the love you are in spirit into these situations. They advise sitting for 5-10 minutes a day in this quiet and she will hear what she needs to hear, feel what she needs to feel, and connect to who she truly is.

The Council says many people don’t understand what most people call negativity is really something we as spirit have brought into our reality. What we consider annoying people or situations are really wonderful souls who choose to be part of our negativity and allow us to see these situations differently, bring love into them, and grow.

D asks if prayer, meditation, and guidance are the best ways to communicate with spirit guides when we need advice, and The Council says yes. When I asked the difference between the three The Council said prayer is asking and talking, meditation is listening to your higher self, and intuition is the voice of your higher self.

D asks how she can teach others when they’re so close-minded. The Council says people aren’t close-minded; they are searching and growing at their own pace. Teaching is more than words, and some people aren’t ready to hear what you say. You teach by your actions and by example. When you show love, when you show how you’ve grown and how you handle things differently, that teaches more than words.

D says her heart keeps pointing her to Ireland, a place she’s never been and knows nothing about, and asks if there’s a reason her spirit keeps pointing her in that direction. The Council says if she feels this in her heart, this is her intuition and why wouldn’t she go.

The Council suggests D move forward with the main reason she came into physical reality: to bring the love she is in spirit into it. Her negativity is there to teach her to turn it around and help her grow. It may be hard for her to believe that when she looses patience or is angry with someone, it is another part of her in this other person, coming forward to give her more understanding. We are all connected.

Listen to the entire 26-minute session with The Council to hear all their guidance during this wonderful session.
