Repairing a Broken Soul Contract
This post answers questions for The Council from a reader named Courtney, who wonders if two people can repair a broken soul contract if violence toward one another has occurred and there’s been too much negativity in the relationship.
The Council says you can always change a soul contract. They also say in your physical body you may desire to change a contract you created in spirit for reasons you may not be aware of in your physical body.
The Council says if you’re in a relationship with a lot of negativity, it’s best to look at where this negativity is coming from and work on these issues. If you have negativity or violence with someone and you feel you can’t change this, then you don’t understand what you wished to achieve when you both agreed to experience this as spiritual beings.
If you both see negativity in your lives and don’t want it, and you balance the negative energy you brought into this lifetime from other lifetimes that’s causing this, then you can change the soul contract.
But if you don’t understand the lesson. and there isn’t true forgiveness and love and understanding that each person is on their own path, as much as you desire to change this soul contract, the contract will remain until you find a way to grow from it. And if you don’t complete the soul contract in your current lifetime, you will have opportunities in other lifetimes.
All soul contracts are changeable if you achieve what you wanted to achieve when you created the situation in spirit (before coming into your current lifetime). You won’t necessarily understand this in your physical body, but you’ll know you’ve achieved what you wanted in spirit when you’re able to change the soul contract.
The Council says there’s a soul contract between Courtney and this other person to forgive this person, a desire to accept this person no matter what path they’re on, and to not manipulate this person. And as you work on these clues, more information will come to you.
The Council says this relationship wasn’t meant to be romantic, but if the two of them are going in that direction The Council says anything is possible with focus and belief, but the issues of negativity must be worked on to fulfill the contract.
In an extended closing The Council wishes blessings to all who write questions and are able to follow The Council’s guidance. They say this guidance will help many more who have similar questions and they send blessings to all who find this guidance helpful.
The Council advises everyone on this path to share their knowledge and love, particularly of our planet, the animals, minerals, and plants. Send love to everything and your life has to change.

Should We Be Vegetarians?
In this question from Ali she asks if being a vegetarian raises your vibration. She understands animals agree on a spiritual level to be eaten, but she assumes these animals suffer and asks if we have an obligation to stop this suffering by not eating meat.
The Council says there are healthy vegetarians, sick vegetarians, and people who only eat junk food and are the healthiest people you’ll ever see. The difference is their beliefs. How you live a life that feels more comfortable to you depends on how you think about it. The Council says these animals do not suffer and it’s not necessary to become a vegetarian, but if you truly believe this is a better way to go, then travel that road.
Ali says she’s not currently a vegetarian, but feels a lot of guilt when she prepares meat. The Council asks her to look at why she puts herself in a reality where she feels guilty, and says only she can change it. They say explore whatever feels good to her and know that this is her higher self showing her the path it wishes to experience.

Was My Stillborn Child a Family Member Who Passed?
This post is inspired by a question from Jyoti who asks if she shared a life with her stillborn child? Jyoti says a lot of her family have died and she wonders if it was one of those souls wanting to come back and be part of the family again?
The Council says Jyoti has a strong connection to this soul and they have shared many lives together, but they don’t see this particular life as one of them. In a life as far back as Atlantis she worked with this soul as a teacher. During the early American Indians they left their tribe and went out on their own. During the first World War there was deciphering messages and carrying information to others. In this lifetime this soul came forward to help Jyoti understand something about this pregnancy.
The Counsel says Jyoti has a strong connection with this soul and she can connect with it through meditation to get information about this life and past lives. Instead of feeling loss for the child Jyoti experiences support and guidance from this soul. If it’s wanted, Jyoti will have another opportunity to give birth to this soul, but there is much to learn from this soul while it’s still in spirit.

Attempts to Heal with My Hands and Intent Don’t Work
This post is inspired by a question from Barry who asks why the healing modalities he’s studied don’t seem to work on him. He says attempts to heal with his hands, his intent, and help from guides isn’t returning his body to normal health and he asks The Counsel’s advice.
The Counsel sees the problem as one of Barry’s belief and they suggest that no matter how he feels, see himself as healed no matter what. See himself whole, as he is in spirit when he came into this body.
When Barry takes the healing modalities he’s learned and uses them on others and sees them as love and sees them as whole no matter what they are going through, he’ll also have more healing coming to himself. And as he gets in the habit of seeing the person who is ill or has emotional problems as whole and then use this on yourself, Barry will begin to see a difference taking place in his owns body. It’s the vibration of love and wanting to help heal others that heals himself as it comes through you.

Maria’s Plan for a Great Spiritual Leap
This post is about a question Maria asked after reading a Thought for the Day from The Council titled ‘Everyone In Your Life Was Invited By You‘.
Maria explains her best friend is on his deathbed and she’s experiencing a lot of emotional pain about this. She is asking The Council if it is also with her permission that her friend is exiting her life, because she’s having difficulty understanding why she would agree to ‘loose’ him at this time and in this way.
There is Agreement
“No one comes into your life unless you invite them. Their departing your life is something that they plan along with you, so there is agreement for both of you that when it is time, when you feel you have concluded what you needed to do together, one or both [of you] exit [the physical body].
“And so, although you find this very painful, it has been discussed and planned while you were still in the spirit world.”

Jaqueline’s Questions – Part 2
This is the second of two posts to answer questions from a reader named Jaqueline. In the first post, Trusting You are Spirit in a Physical Body, The Council answers her question about how to connect with inner guidance and find inner peace “even when things seems to be so messed up.”

What About This Idea That We Create Whatever We Desire?
This post is in response to a question from Diana about the idea that everyone creates whatever they desire. She’s read a lot on this subject and asks about the practical application of this idea for creating a relationship she desires. Diana particularly wants to know how this idea works if she focuses all her attention on being with a specific person, but this person is focusing all their attention in opposition to that and doesn’t want to be with her. She asks the logical question: How is it possible for both people to get what they desire if their desires are exact opposites?
What We Desire, We Create First in a Non-Physical Reality
The Council’s answer to Diana’s question provided Cynthia and me with some new insight and understanding into the process of getting what we desire. This understanding begins with the idea that when we have a desire for something, whatever we desire is immediately created in a non-physical, vibrational reality. In Diana’s example, The Council says her desire to be with this person (since a name or gender aren’t specified we’ll refer to this person with the letter A) instantly creates in a non-physical reality the experience that she is with A in every way she desires.
Given a choice, most of us probably prefer to experience our desired creations in our physical reality, not just a vibrational one. So the question is: how do we get our desired creation from a non-physical reality into our physical reality.

What is Karma and How Does it Work?
This post is inspired by a question from Oksana who was confused about the subject of karma and wanted to know what The Council has to say about it.
Council Comments on the Meaning of Karma
“We like this question very much – the subject of karma… how one’s thinking creates their own reality. For many centuries this idea of karma has been elusive. In the beginning it was thought that the deeds you do in this life, you would pay for in the afterlife, such as heaven if you did many good deeds, and hell if you did many bad, hurtful, horrible things – you would pay for it in the afterlife.
“And then it evolved that if you were truly bad enough in many of your lifetimes, you not only had to wait until you went back to non-physical, but you would begin to pay for it in the physical body.
“So again, you would experience many challenging situations in your life. And many people who, not understanding where this came from, would begin to think: This is my karma. I know I’m not a bad person now. I must be paying for it from another lifetime.
“And we can only tell you that you create your own reality. And by believing there is a judgmental God that will cast these horrible situations onto you – we are here to tell you this is not how it works.”

The Council
Cynthia is able to communicate with a group of five non-physical spirit guides in a manner similar to the way Esther Hicks communicates with and speaks for the spirit guides, Abraham, and Jane Roberts communicated and spoke for the spirit guide, Seth. I (Bob) basically interview The Council as they speak through Cynthia during what we refer to as a session. Sessions generally last 5-15 minutes and are usually audio recorded. During the session Cynthia is aware of what The Council is saying and she also receives visual impressions and other types of telepathic communication from them.
The Council’s Basic Guidance
Since we began these sessions with The Council around 2009 they consistently emphasize a few basic ideas that we attempt to summarize here:
1) You are an eternal spiritual being in a physical body.
You are the energy and vibration of continuously expanding love, intelligence, and joy.
Your physical experience in your physical body and your psychological experience of your personality is a small part of the totality of who you truly are.
Let yourself imagine from time to time what it might feel like to experience more of the wondrous totality of who you really are, and don’t be surprised if you are able to experience this more often.
2) You are the creator of all that you experience.
As you open to the possibility your true nature is greater than you ordinarily perceive, it becomes easier to consider the possibility that this expanded you is truly the creator of everything that you experience.
If you’re used to thinking of yourself in a more limited sense, the idea that you are the creator of your experience may be difficult to understand. Our post, What About This Idea That We Create Whatever We Desire, offers insights into this idea.
3) You are here to expand the love you are into physical reality.
You chose, as a spiritual being, to come into this physical reality to experience the joy of expanding the love you are as a spiritual being, into this physical reality. This is your purpose for being here.
